This study, through the method of canonical correlation analysis, revealed significant correlations between various dimensions of learning attitudes of students and various dimensions of teacher knowledge. An analysis of data from a group of 221 high school students showed that teacher knowledge of teaching content, theoretical knowledge, and teaching practice and classroom management significantly impact learning attitudes of students. Specifically, teacher knowledge of teaching content plays a crucial role in promoting students' behavioral inclination to learn chemistry, teachers' theoretical knowledge significantly enhances students' liking for chemistry laboratory courses, while teachers' teaching practice and classroom management have a suppressive effect on students' evaluative beliefs about school chemistry. The results of this study provide effective guidance for both the theory and practice of high school chemistry education.
In order to scientifically evaluate the germplasm resources of Momordica charantia in southern China, the diversity, correlation and cluster analysis were carried out on the main botanical characters of 56 Momordica charantia varieties, such as melon length, melon transverse diameter, single melon weight, internode length, stem diameter, leaf length and leaf width. The results showed that the variation coefficients of 7 agronomic characters of 56 Momordica charantia varieties ranged from 8.81% to 19.44%, the average variation coefficient was 14.21%, the maximum variation coefficient of single melon weight was 19.44%, and the minimum variation coefficient of melon cross diameter was 8.81%. The correlation analysis showed that there were correlations among the agronomic traits. The positive correlation coefficient between leaf length and leaf width was up to 0.978, and the negative correlation coefficient between single melon weight and internode length was up to 0.451. The 56 varieties were divided into 3 groups by cluster analysis, of which 92.86% of the materials were concentrated in the first and second groups, and there were only 4 materials in the third group. The results can provide a reference for the cultivation, utilization and genetic improvement of Momordica charantia resources in southern China.
Twenty-two tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) genotypes were examined for correlation and path analysis in the randomized block design under open field conditions. Total fruit yield showed a significant positive correlation with the number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, lycopene content, and percent seedling survival in the field at both the genotypic and phenotypic levels. A strong correlation between these characters revealed that selection based on these characters would consequently improve the total fruit yield. Path analysis showed that the number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, percent seedling survival in the nursery, and number of locules per fruit exhibited high positive direct phenotypic effects on total fruit yield, whereas the number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, percent seedling survival in the field, and pollen viability had very high positive direct genotypic effects. Therefore, to increase the yield, it would be profitable to prioritize these traits in the selection program.
