This study investigates the willingness of Indonesian consumers, particularly in West Java, to pay for green products by applying and expanding the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). It examines how perceived green product value and willingness to pay premiums influence consumer intentions and behavior toward green purchases. The research highlights the gap between consumers’ willingness to pay for environmentally friendly products and the actual sales of such products. By incorporating perceived value and willingness to pay into the TPB framework, the study aims to find what factors that can address the gap particularly in a developing country context to contribute to shaping a pro-environmental socio-cultural community in Indonesia and mitigates country’s significant environmental challenges. In the context of 251 young consumers in Indonesia, this study finds that subjective norms do not significantly influence purchase intentions. However, attitudes and behavioral controls do effectively encourage green behavior, suggesting that societal norms for green behavior may not be fully established. In addition, while willingness to pay a premium and perceived value of green purchases can influence green behavior, consumers are generally reluctant to pay higher prices for environmentally friendly products.
The objective of this research paper is to investigate potential avenues for value creation in the refined sugar market for domestic use, a market currently facing a critical juncture. The growing concerns about the health impacts of sugar have resulted in a notable decline in demand. Furthermore, changes in European Union regulations have introduced additional operators into the Spanish market, increasing competition and amplifying the need for innovation. This study examines how brands can respond to these challenges by enhancing their value proposition through market segmentation, targeted marketing strategies, and adaptive packaging solutions. To achieve this objective, we have conducted market research, which involved an in-depth interview, and a questionnaire distributed to 402 individuals responsible for household purchases. The findings suggest potential approaches for addressing the needs of consumers with a focus on health and well-being, while simultaneously enhancing the durability of products, thus facilitating greater brand differentiation. Furthermore, the study underscores the pivotal role of public policies and regulatory frameworks in influencing consumer behavior and market dynamics. Policies promoting sugar alternatives, labelling requirements, and packaging innovations have been demonstrated to impact brand strategies and consumer preferences. By aligning with these policy-driven shifts, companies can enhance their positioning in a mature and competitive market. This research contributes to the existing literature on brand value in commodity markets by integrating insights into the impact of regulation and consumer segmentation. Our recommendations emphasize the importance of marketing strategies that are informed by an understanding of the policy context, which not only enhances brand equity but also promotes sustainable growth in the retail sugar industry.
This study examines the rapid convergence of the tourism industry with other sectors, driven by the expanding experience economy. A conceptual model was introduced encompassing industry convergence patterns, paths, and effects to assess this convergence’s effectiveness. Using a survey of 392 tourists in Macau, these findings reveal that the tourism industry convergence path and mode positively influence the convergence effect, thereby shaping tourists’ perceived value. Moreover, this study identifies that convergence mode and effect mediate the relationship between the tourism industry convergence path and perceived value. This study validates the efficacy of industrial convergence paths and models in fostering regional industry convergence within the tourism sector. Additionally, it contributes a theoretical framework for evaluating industry convergence effects at a micro level, enhancing both the theoretical understanding and practical applications of Macao’s tourism industry and industrial convergence theory.
Promoting travelling intention within social media is significant for stakeholders to grasp a new tourism market and cultivate a new model for development of tourism industry. This study aims to understand path of destination image affecting travelling intention, and to investigate the mediation role of perceived value, furthermore, to uncover the role of moderator of situational involvement. This paper conducts a survey on tourists visiting Guilin, collecting 435 questionnaires, and uses the structural equation modeling method to explore how the image of the tourism destination affects tourists’ willingness to travel. The research results indicate that cognitive image, emotional image, and projected image all have a significant positive impact on perceived value, perceived value as a significant mediator to bridge the relationship among the destination image and tourists’ travel intention. Furthermore, situational involvement plays a negative moderating role in the mediating effect of emotional value. This study endeavor will serve to enrich the understanding of perceived value theory, destination image theory, and tourism consumer behavior theory. It will also provide theoretical foundations and policy recommendations for guiding tourism consumer behavior, analyzing destination image perception, and destination marketing.
This study examines the impact of digitally curated museum exhibitions on visitor behavior, with a particular focus on university students from China and Hungary (n = 308). Using PLS-SEM analysis, the research finds that visitors’ experiences during digital curation visits significantly influence their behavior, and this influence is mediated by perceived value and satisfaction. It is recommended that museums consider the following constructive considerations to facilitate their future development: expanding the application of digital curation, utilizing cutting-edge technologies, implementing data-driven curatorial optimization, enhancing social experiences, integrating education and entertainment, and promoting cultural preservation and environmental stewardship. These insights will help guide museums toward more engaging and sustainable experiences.
