This study aims to identify gaps in Indonesia’s national social health insurance scheme (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional or JKN) in meeting the right to health for disabled persons in the country and to propose strategies to mitigate the gaps. This study employed descriptive qualitative methodologies. A questionnaire survey and structured interviews were undertaken from the period of October to December 2021, with a purposive sample of 317 disabled persons at their working age. Data collection also included on-site observations to sample of healthcare providers in six provinces and focused group discussions with key stakeholders. This study found that JKN is the primary source of hope for disabled persons. Nevertheless, approximately ten percent of disabled persons have been omitted from the scheme. Moreover, respondents of the survey expressed notably lower satisfaction level compared to the national average. Meanwhile, 25% of them also reported that JKN did not cover certain disability-specific benefits. The findings suggest that the national social health insurance scheme is not well prepared to offer disability-inclusive services. Thereby, policymakers should implement various interventions to improve the admission processes for disabled persons and to develop a system to identify disabled members based on their specific disabilities. Additionally, stipulating standards for disability-friendly minimum services for healthcare providers and incorporating the standards into the credentialing systems, providing regular training on disability-friendly services for healthcare personnel, also enhancing benefits coverage for disabled members in the Indonesian Case Base Groups (INA-CBGs) are the necessary strategies to mitigate the gaps.
In the rapidly expanding Chinese high-tech industry, high employee turnover poses a significant challenge. This study employs a mixed-methods approach to explore the association between transformational leadership and turnover intentions, utilizing both survey responses and detailed interviews. Findings from this investigation demonstrate a strong negative correlation between transformational leadership and turnover intentions. Increased job satisfaction and organizational commitment, crucial factors for employee retention, mediate this relationship. The study underscores the strategic significance for high-tech enterprises in China to nurture transformational leadership as a means to mitigate turnover, thereby fostering a more engaged and dedicated workforce, and sustaining a competitive advantage in this dynamic industry.
This study develops an optimisation model to facilitate inter-facility medicine sharing in response to anticipated medicine shortages. These facilities include hospitals and medical representatives. We adopt the concept of collective response proposed in our study literature. The optimisation model is developed according to the real-world practices of inter-facility medicine sharing. We utilise case studies of particular healthcare networks to demonstrate the efficacy of the developed model. The efficacy encompasses the model’s application to real-world case studies, as well as its validity and reliability within a specific system. The results show that the developed model is able to determine which facilities should share the requested amount of medicines; and to reduce total lead times by at least one day compared to the ones obtained in the current practice. The model can be used as a decision-support tool for healthcare practitioners when responding to shortages. The study presents the managerial implications of medicine sharing at the network level and supports the development of collaboration amongst facilities in response to medicine shortages.
The study examined the mediating role of supply chain security performance on the relationship between supply chain security practices and supply chain disruptions occurrences in the manufacturing industry in Ghana. Drawing on a survey of 336 manufacturing firms, dynamic capability, and contingency theories were applied using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the conceptual model. It was discovered that both direct and indirect hypotheses supported the findings of the study. The results indicate that Ghanaian manufacturing firms have made progress in implementing supply chain security measures. The findings revealed that the adoption of comprehensive supply chain security practices is positively associated with improved performance metrics, including reduced inventory losses and damages, faster order fulfillment and delivery times, lower costs related to security incidents, and enhanced brand reputation and customer trust. Policymakers can leverage these insights to develop support programs aimed at strengthening the security capabilities of manufacturing firms, ensuring they are equipped to compete effectively in both local and global markets, improving security performance, and reducing the likelihood and impact of supply chain disruptions. In the quest of bridging the gap between theory and practice, this research contributes valuable knowledge to the discourse on supply chain security in developing countries, offering a roadmap for enhancing resilience and performance in the manufacturing sector.
This research aims to build an appropriate leadership model for regional heads in mitigating disasters due to climate change that is occurring in Papua. Papua Island is one of the islands that is included in disaster-prone areas, namely earthquakes, flash floods, tidal floods and landslides. This disaster occurred due to Papua’s geological conditions in the form of activity on the Indo-Australian plate (southern part) and the Pacific plate (north-eastern part). Exploitation of nature carried out by companies and communities themselves in a particular area has an impact on the balance of the natural ecosystem. So far, disaster management has only focused on emergency response. Aid movements coordinated by ordinary people also focus more on raising aid for emergency situations. In fact, comprehensive disaster management includes before, during and after a disaster occurs. So a combination of leadership styles is needed that must be carried out at each phase of a disaster so that the right model can be produced. The results of this research found that the leadership model of regional heads in mitigating climate change in Papua is in accordance with the disaster management cycle with leadership styles, and traditional Papuan leadership styles. This combination is called a collaborative leadership model for disaster management in Papua. It is hoped that by implementing this model, climate change disaster mitigation can be effective.
