Smart electric meters play a pivotal role in making energy systems decarbonized and automating the energy system. Smart electric meters denote huge business opportunities for both public and private companies. Utility players can manage the electricity demand more efficiently whereas customers can monitor and control the electricity bill through the adoption of smart electric meters. The study examines the factors affecting the adoption intention of smart electric meters in Indian households. This study draws a roadmap that how utility providers and customers can improve the smart electric meters adoption. The study has five independent variables (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, environmentalism, and hedonic motivation) and one dependent variable (adoption intention). The sample size for the study is four hundred and sixty-two respondents from Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The data was analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The results of this study have confirmed that performance expectancy, environmentalism, and social influence have a significant impact on the intention of adopting smart electric meters. Therefore, utility providers can improve their strategies to attract more customers to adopt smart electric meters by focusing more on the performance of smart electric meters and by making them environmentally friendly. This research offers meaningful insights to both customers and utility providers to make energy systems decarbonized and control energy consumption.
Overwhelming studies unanimously agreed that preservation of the environment is a central climax in the discourse of green banking. There is a growing interest in exploring green banking practices for fostering financial inclusion, economic growth and sustainable development as part of Vision 2030 in Saudi Arabia. There are insufficient studies that examine this in the context of Saudi Arabia. This study aims at exploring the potential of green banking in order to attain sustainable banking and financial inclusion in achieving vision 2030in the country. Qualitative content analysis is used as a methodology of the study. Data were gathered through different sources such as: Web of Science (WOS), related journals, newspapers, published references, research papers, library sources and environmental organizations reports. It is indicated that green banking initiatives can be instrumental in fostering sustainable economic and environmental development in the Kingdom. The paper highlighted various activities of green banking such as: renewable and clean energy, financing green agriculture/food security, high-quality infrastructure among others. Nonetheless, some impediments to the green banking practices such as: risks facing green banks, poor quality of financial services among others are also mentioned in this paper. The paper proffers solutions to the challenges impeding green banking practices. In conclusion, the financial and banking industries in Saudi Arabia has been proving reform of the sector through greening economy. It is there suggested that the stakeholders and policymakers should provide efficient and effective technical, operational legal frameworks for enhancing green economy in achieving Vision 2030 in the country.
The objective of the study was to analyze green marketing in the promotion of environmentally responsible and sustainable practices in the development of resilient infrastructure in Peru. The methodology used was qualitative and interpretative, the documentary design based on the systematic review of scientific literature. The PRISMA model was applied for the selection of units of analysis, resulting in 36 articles out of an initial total of 950. Content analysis was used to examine the documents, following a detailed procedure that included the use of Grounded Theory to categorize and analyze the data. The results highlighted the importance of integrating green marketing and sustainable practices into resilient infrastructure planning and development. Key strategies were identified that include promoting environmental responsibility, adopting sustainable technologies in construction, and implementing policies that foster urban resilience and sustainability. The findings highlight the adoption of a comprehensive approach that combines green marketing with resilient infrastructure planning and development to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in Peru.
Humanity is currently facing several global problems, such as global warming, air pollution, water pollution, deforestation, desertification, and land degradation, which are connected to the consequences of negative human activity. One of the possible and effective institutional tools for environmental protection is the environmental education of the general population. It is a relatively well-known and used environmental protection policy tool that governments of all developed countries have in their instrument mix. This qualitative analysis assigned itself the task of investigating whether the ability of environmental education can be affected by certain neuropsychological diseases in addition to thinking about the psychology of environmental education at large. To fulfill this main task, the authors asked themselves the following research questions: 1st—Is pedagogical psychology identical and applicable in the case of environmental education? And 2nd—What effect do some neuropsychological disorders have on the ability of environmental education? Based on the study, analysis, selection, and comparison of current professional scientific works obtained from the research activities of current researches on this topic, it is possible to accept the premise that the psychology of environmental education is basically the same as the general psychology of education and that neuropsychological diseases do indeed affect the ability of environmental education similarly to scholarly education. The main benefit of this qualitative review is the originality of the survey. There are no relevant and credible publications on the chosen topic, i.e., on the influence of selected neuropsychological diseases on the ability of environmental education of the population, to be found in the representative databases. Due to the importance of environmental education of the population, as one of the basic tools of environmental protection, the knowledge gained can gradually be incorporated into the politics, psychology, and didactics of education, to improve the technique of environmental education.
This study investigates the impact of toll road construction on 59 micro, small, and medium enterprises in Kampar, Pekanbaru, and Dumai cities. The research aims to analyze the economic and environmental effects of infrastructure expansion on businesses’ profitability and sustainability, providing insights for policymakers and stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies to support MSMEs amidst ongoing infrastructure development. Structural equation modeling, spatial environmental impact analysis, and qualitative data analysis using five-level qualitative data analysis (FL-QDA) were all used together in a mixed-methods approach. Data collection involved observations, interviews, questionnaires, and geospatial analysis, including the use of a Geo-Information System (GIS) supported by drone reconnaissance to map affected areas. The study revealed that the toll roads significantly enhanced connectivity and economic growth but also negatively impacted local economies (β = 0.32, R2 = 0.60, P-value ≤ 0.05). and the environment (β = 0.34, P-value ≤ 0.05), as 49% of respondents experienced a 50% decrease in profitability. To mitigate the risk of impact, policymakers should prioritize the principle of prudence to evaluate the significance of mitigation policy implementation (β = 0.144, P-value ≥ 0.05). In a nutshell, toll road construction significantly impacts MSMEs’ business continuity, necessitating an innovative strategy involving monitoring and participatory approaches to mitigate risk.
This paper aims to contribute with a literature review on the use of AI for cleaner production throughout industries in the consideration of AI’s advantage within the environment, economy, and society. The survey report based on the analysis of research papers from the recent literature from leading database sources such as Scopus, the Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Science Direct, Springer Link, and Google Scholar identifies the strategic strengths of AI in optimizing the resources, minimizing the carbon footprint and eradicating wastage with the help of machined learning, neural networks and predictive analytics. AI integration presents vast aspects of environmental gains, including such enhancements as a marked reduction concerning the energy and materials consumed along with enhanced ways of handling the resulting waste. On the economic aspect, AI enhances the processes that lead to better efficiency and lower costs in the market on the other hand, on the social aspect, the application of any AI influences how people are utilized as workers/clients in the community. The following are some of the limitations towards AI adoption as proposed by the review of related literature; The best things that come with AI are yet accompanied by some disadvantages; there are implementation costs, data privacy, as well as system integration that may be a major disadvantage. The review envisages that with the continuation of the AI development in the following years, the optic is going to be the accentuation on the enhancement of the process of feeding the data in real-time mode, IoT connections, and the implementation of the proper ethical approaches toward the AI launching for all segments of the society. The conclusions provide precise suggestions to the people working in the industry to adopt the AI advancements appropriately and at the same time, encourage the lawmakers to create favorable legal environments to enable the ethical uses of AI. This review therefore calls for more targeted partnerships between the academia, industry, and government to harness the full potential of AI for sustainable industrial practices worldwide.
