The sustainability of the creative industry through creative-based tourism in the Laweyan Tourism Village requires the support of a sustainable and inclusive development model for local communities. This research aims to present the design of a tourist village development model that applies the eco-cultural city concept as a Surakarta City Perspective through creative-based tourism towards creative industries. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive exploratory method. Data collection techniques use interviews with key informants. Empirical observation using cultural mapping as identification of physical mapping of spatial layout, build ings and environment, as well as cultural landscapes for tangible and intangible cultural assets of the community in the local landscape in the Laweyan tourist village. Content analysis is applied as a research data analysis method. The research results provide an overview of the design of the creative-based tourism village development model towards a sustainable creative industry including aspects attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary, and green tourism. Model design requires commitment and participation from the government and private sector in collaborating with sustainable tourist village development forums.
The role of agriculture in greenhouse gas emissions and carbon neutrality is a complex and important area of study. It involves both carbon sequestration, like photosynthesis, and carbon emission, such as land cultivation and livestock breeding. In Shandong Province, a major agricultural region in China, understanding these dynamics is not only crucial for local and national carbon neutrality goals, but also for global efforts. In this study, we utilized panel data spanning over two decades from 2000 to 2022 and closely examined agricultural carbon dynamics in 16 cities of the Shandong Province. The method from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was used for calculating agricultural carbon sinks, carbon emissions, and carbon surplus. The results showed that (1) carbon sink from crops in the Shandong Province experienced growth during the study period, closely associated with the rise in crop yields; (2) a significant portion of agricultural carbon emissions was attributable to gastrointestinal fermentation in cattle, and a reduction in the number of stocked cattle led to a fall in overall carbon emissions; (3) carbon surplus underwent a significant transition in 2008, turning from negative to positive, and the lowest value of carbon surplus was noticed in 2003, with agriculture sector reaching the carbon peak; (4) the spatial pattern of carbon surplus intensity distinctly changed before and after 2005, and from 2000 to 2005, demonstrating spatial aggregation. This research elucidates that agriculture in Shandong Province achieved carbon neutrality as early as 2008. This is a pivotal progression, as it indicates a balance between carbon emissions and absorption, highlighting the sector’s ability in maintaining a healthy carbon equilibrium.
Landscape architects, who guide planning and design decisions by understanding the socio-cultural expectations, functional needs, and social behaviors of the community, create ideal spaces for people by integrating natural, social, cultural, and aesthetic factors with a holistic design approach in urban public areas. Public open green spaces are important urban areas that have a positive impact on people’s physical, mental, and emotional health. In this context, the concept of personal space, its impact on individuals, and related perception studies have been examined. In landscape design, criteria that affect individuals’ personal space distances and personal space perceptions have been identified, providing a basis for sustainable landscape design projects in public open and green spaces.
Customers are displaying heightened awareness and involvement in their banking arrangements, and they are actively assessing and remembering information to make informed decisions regarding the allocation of their financial resources towards environmental protection solutions such as clean energy, sustainable construction, climate change control and social protection. Based on the current theoretical gap of factors influencing customer satisfaction and thereby encouraging continued engagement in green finance initiatives, this study aims to identify the factors influencing customer satisfaction as a means of fostering greater participation in green finance amongst customers of commercial banks in Ho Chi Minh City. Using data from a survey of 479 individuals who are customers at commercial banks in Ho Chi Minh City, this study analyses and evaluates the impact of factors influencing customer satisfaction and the role of customer satisfaction in green finance continuance behaviour. Combining basic analysis techniques in quantitative research such as statistics, evaluation of Cronbach’s alpha reliability, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), measurement models and Partial Least Squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) from SPSS and SMART PLS software. the results of this research indicate that: (1) Green Banking initiative (GB), Information Support (IS) and Emotional Support (ES) positively impact Customer Satisfaction (SA); (2) Customer Satisfaction (SA) positively impacts Green Finance Continuance Behaviour (GF).
Sustainability and green campus initiatives are widely examined in developed countries but less attention has been paid in developing countries such as Pakistan. Therefore, this study intends to examine the links between sustainability dimensions and green campus initiatives by mediating role of teachers and students’ involvement. Green campus or sustainable campus or environment friendly campus is based on the principles of environmental sustainability, incorporating social, and economic and environmental dimensions. Questionnaire for assessment of sustainability was adopted and 529 responses were received from the faculty, management and servicing staff of the seven Mountain Universities of the Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Northern Pakistan. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PL-SEM) was used to analyse the data. The results indicated that energy conservation, water conservation, green transport, sustainable waste management have enhanced campus green initiatives. Teachers and students’ involvement partially mediate the relationship between green transport strategies, sustainable waste management and green campuses initiatives. While on another hand, teachers and students’ involvement have not mediated the links between energy conservation, water conservation and green campus initiatives. The study contributes to theory building in the area of green and environment friendly campus initiatives by enriching the understanding of the processes carrying the effect of sustainability dimensions and both teachers and students’ involvement.
