Entrepreneurial dynamics in the information age: A systematic literature review of research patterns and intellectual structures (2005–2024)

This systematic literature review examines the convergence of entrepreneurship and information technology between 2005 and 2024. It investigates how the emergence of information technologies such as social networks, smart devices, big data, and cloud computing have transformed business operations and entrepreneurial approaches. The study use technologies such as Bibliometrix to analyze academic literature and identify research trends, knowledge structures, and their evolutionary routes. During the specified time frame, a grand total of 292 articles were published by 777 writers. These publications have played a key role in redirecting academic focus from traditional entrepreneurship to the field of digital entrepreneurship and the applications of information technology. A thematic analysis uncovers a shift from theoretical investigation to practical implementations and multidisciplinary research, while a co-citation analysis highlights important contributors and influential works. This study emphasizes the crucial importance of information technology in influencing entrepreneurial behaviors and strategic business decisions. It also offers valuable insights for future research and entrepreneurial practice in the information age.

Do CBDCs promote financial inclusion and strengthen the monetary regulations?

Digital currencies are impacting the financial lives of people and countries around the world; particularly developing countries see the retail Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) as an opportunity to increase financial inclusion and introduce new monetary policy implementation mechanisms. The decision to launch a digital currency mainly depends upon the goals and objectives being set by the Central Bank of any respective country. Digital currencies help to implement monetary policy more effectively to achieve the financial system stability. Kazakhstan is the leading economy in the Commonwealth of Independent States region; the digital payments market is changing rapidly in Kazakhstan, being driven by fintech innovations and public investments in payment technologies. In this article, we thoroughly discussed how launching of “Digital Tenge” is promoting financial inclusion and strengthening the monetary regulations across Kazakhstan. We took the case of Kazakhstan because it’s the first country from Central Asia which took the initiative of launching digital currency, and the National Bank of Kazakhstan has already announced that implementation of “Digital Tenge” would be completed in Kazakhstan by the end of 2025. The implementation of a “Digital Tenge” as a CBDC in Kazakhstan would expand the range of financial services being available to the nation. Having direct authority over the digital currency will empower the National Bank of Kazakhstan to adopt more efficient monetary policy, exerting influence over interest rates, money supply, and general economic stability. Furthermore, by providing digital financial services to marginalized communities, the digital Tenge would also help to solve the difficulties of financial inclusion in Kazakhstan. The article provides the possible policy routes for the governments of developing countries and the financial regulators about adopting CBDCs for promoting financial inclusion and to strengthen the monetary regulations.

With the rapid development of digital technology, a new social culture has emerged between new media and traditional media. Digital technologies are gradually being integrated into the media industry, significantly enhancing the dissemination efficiency of traditional media programs and providing strong support for the modernization of new media. In this context, media professionals need to deeply understand the impact of social communication on traditional media. This understanding is essential to explore new work models aimed at meeting audience needs, maximizing the advantages of social communication, injecting new vitality into the dissemination of broadcast and television programs, and promoting the sustained and healthy development of traditional media.

Investigation of the relationship between cryptocurrency acceptance points and tourism in EU regions

This study examined the role of cryptocurrencies in tourism and their acceptance across EU regions, with particular attention to the digital transformation precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis focuses on the relationship between cryptocurrency acceptance points and the intensity of tourism, highlighting that the acceptance of cryptocurrencies is significantly correlated with tourism services. The literature review highlighted that Web 3.0, especially blockchain technology and decentralized applications, opens new possibilities in tourism, including secure and transparent transactions, and more personalized travel experiences. The research investigated cryptocurrency acceptance points and the intensity of tourism within the EU. The study illuminates that the acceptance of cryptocurrencies significantly correlates with tourism services. The data and methodology demonstrated the analysis methods for examining the relationship between cryptocurrency acceptance points and tourism intensity, including the use of clustering neural networks and Eurostat data utilization. The results showed a positive correlation between the number of cryptocurrency acceptance points and tourism intensity in the EU, affirming the research hypothesis. According to the regression analysis results, each additional cryptocurrency acceptance point is associated with an increase in tourism intensity. The significance of the research lies in highlighting the growing role of digital payment solutions, especially cryptocurrencies, in tourism, and their potential impacts on the EU economy. The analysis supports that the intertwining of tourism and digital financial technologies opens new opportunities in the sector for both providers and tourists.

Can the digital economy transform financial inclusion in rural communities? A gendered lens

Rural communities in Africa face various challenges related to infrastructure, limited economic activities and poverty. The COVID-19 pandemic, which aggravated some of the rural areas’ socioeconomic conditions, has illuminated the vast divide in accessing digital platforms for social services and financial access. Rural communities’ socioeconomic burdens can be alleviated through participation in the digital economy; however, this is yet to be a reality for these communities. While financial digital technologies have helped with financial access elsewhere, the same cannot be said for Africa’s rural areas. This exclusion is because location plays a significant role in the availability of digital solutions; hence areas with limited infrastructure will not have access to products such as digital financing, which is supposed to reach those that are far from financial institutions. The study employed a systematic literature view to understand the extent of financial inclusion in Africa. Content and thematic analysis were used to analyse the data. The findings highlighted a myriad of challenges that affect the participation of the rural population in the digital economy, stemming from access to and stable supply of electricity, the poor or limited infrastructure required for accessing digital products and gender-related issues where women’s gendered roles limit them from harnessing digital products. The study revealed that there is a shortage of digital products to reach all that needs access to finance. This is due to infrastructural challenges that are making access difficult for digital products such as mobile money to reach rural communities. Therefore, policymakers must focus on digital transformation for rural areas and support the usage of financial digital technologies to build the rural digital economy. In this way they will be promoting digital inclusion and reducing digital inequalities.

Narrative review on key technologies of digitalization of standards transformation

As the technical support for economic activities and social development, standards play a great role in modern society. However, with the increasing digitization of various industries, the traditional form of standards can no longer meet the needs of the new era, and there is an urgent need to digitally transform standards using advanced technologies. The digital transformation of standards involves the standard itself and all stages of its life cycle, is a very complex systematic project, in the transformation process, technology plays a key role. Therefore, this paper summarizes the key technologies involved in the process of digital transformation of standards, sorted out and evaluated them according to different purposes for which they were used, while giving the digitalization of standards transformation technology development trends and planning as well as typical cases, hoping to provide a comprehensive and clear perspective for those engaged in the related work, as well as reference for the subsequent research and application of digital transformation of standards.
