Nomophobia, the anxiety experienced when individuals are separated from their mobile phones, is becoming increasingly prevalent in modern workplaces. This study investigates the role of organizational commitment in mitigating nomophobia, with a focus on the mediating influence of the ethical environment. Data were collected from 600 participants and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings show that a strong sense of organizational commitment significantly reduces nomophobia among employees. Additionally, an ethical environment within organizations further mitigates this anxiety by fostering a workplace culture that encourages psychological well-being. This research provides practical insights for organizations looking to reduce the psychological strain associated with digital dependency, emphasizing the importance of both commitment and a strong ethical climate.
This study investigated changes in lifestyles and psychological anxiety among Koreans during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic using the 2020 data from the nationwide Korean Community Health Survey. The study outcomes were psychological anxiety about the infection and death, due to COVID-19. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to evaluate the relationship between psychological anxiety and lifestyle changes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people who practiced healthy behaviors and followed social distancing and quarantine regulations experienced increased psychological anxiety for infection and death. Daily life changes during the COVID-19 pandemic were not associated with psychological anxiety. The result of this study can provide baseline measures for further study on psychological anxiety during re-infection of COVID-19 and future pandemics in Korea.
COVID-19 is among the tremendous negative pandemics that have been recorded in human history. The study was conducted to give a breakdown of the effect of post-COVID-19 mental health among individuals residing in a developing country. The two scales, namely DASS-21 and IES-R, were employed to collect the essential related data. The findings indicated that anxiety was a typical and common mental issue among the population, including up to 56.75% of the participants having extremely severe anxiety, 13.18% reporting severe anxiety. Notably, no one has anxiety and depression under moderate levels. Additionally, there is 51.92% depression and 43.64% stress ranging from severe to extremely severe levels. Furthermore, there were significant statistical differences among the data on stress, anxiety, and depression according to gender (males and females) and subgroups (students, the elderly, and medical healthcare workers). Besides, the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder in the study was relatively high, especially when compared to the figures reported by the World Health Organization. Moreover, stress, anxiety, and depression all displayed positive correlations with post-traumatic stress disorder. This is big data on the mental health of the entire population that helps the country’s government propose policy strategies to support, medical care and social security for the population.
This study aims to explore the relationship between classroom anxiety and self-efficacy among Chinese Korean language learners and the impact of these variables on learning outcomes. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, the study conducted a questionnaire survey with 300 learners to assess their levels of Korean language learning classroom anxiety and self-efficacy. The questionnaire comprised two parts: one for assessing learning anxiety and the other for self-efficacy. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate a significant negative correlation between classroom anxiety and self-efficacy. That is, higher levels of classroom anxiety in Korean language learners correspond to lower levels of self-efficacy. Additionally, self-efficacy played a partial mediating role between classroom anxiety and learning outcomes. The study also found that teaching strategies offering positive feedback and encouragement can effectively reduce learners’ classroom anxiety and enhance their self-efficacy, thereby improving learning outcomes. This research is significant for understanding the psychological characteristics of Chinese Korean language learners and their impact on the learning process. The findings underscore the need to focus on learners’ psychological states in language teaching and provide strategies for teachers on how to improve teaching effectiveness by alleviating classroom anxiety and enhancing self-efficacy.
Even in the late stages of the COVID-19, the physical and psychological trauma caused by the epidemic continues to affect people, particularly university students, whose physical and psychological health is vulnerable to environmental influences. The purpose of this article is to investigate the relationship between learning adaptability and “state” anxiety among university students enrolled during the COVID-19(2020-2022), as well as the role of self-management in mediating this process. The findings reveal a negative association between college students' academic adjustment and their state anxiety, a process that also includes a mediation role for self-management, with subjects in this research being college students enrolled during COVID-19. This study offers a theoretical foundation for investigating the factors influencing anxiety from an operationalized viewpoint, as well as for further effective regulation of university students' mental health and anxiety reduction.
