This study was conducted to comprehensively explore personal assistants for people with disabilities experiences and the current status of client behavioral issues during vocational activities, aiming to seek strategies for advancing worker health protection. The study included 8 participants (Personal assistants for people with disabilities) selected through voluntary convenience sampling method. Qualitative research methods, specifically in-depth interviews, were conducted from August 31 to September 1, 2023. The study categorized client behavioral issues into ‘unreasonable demands,’ ‘verbal and physical abuse,’ and ‘sexual harassment,’ causing stress among workers. Fear of unemployment and job change hindered emotional expression, leading to significant emotional exhaustion and job stress. Furthermore, it was revealed that there are no management policies, management departments, or management systems within the institution to address client problem behavior. To address these issues, the study suggests the establishment of emotional labor management systems and support structures. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for systematic internal systems and the development of health protection manuals for client interaction.
Understanding the factors that influence early science achievement is crucial for developing effective educational policies and ensuring equity within the education system. Despite its importance, research on the patterns of young children achieving science learning milestones and the factors that can reduce disparities between students with and without disabilities remains limited. This study analyzes data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study of Kindergarten Cohort 2011 (ECLS-K: 2011), which includes 18,174 children from 1328 schools across the United States, selected through a complex sampling process and spanning kindergarten to 5th grade. Utilizing survival analysis, the study finds that children with disabilities achieve science milestones later than their peers without disabilities, with these disparities persisting from early grades. The research highlights the effectiveness of center-based programs in enhancing science learning, particularly in narrowing the achievement gap between children with and without disabilities. These findings contribute to the broader discourse on equity in the education system and policy by introducing novel methodologies for assessing the frequency and duration of science learning milestones, and by providing insights into effective strategies that support equitable science education.
This study examines the factors that predict successful transition outcomes for college students with impairments in Saudi Arabia. A stratified random sample method was employed to survey 500 people across various educational levels and disability categories. The efficacy of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), cultural variables, and perceptions of transition services have been investigated using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study revealed significant positive correlations between the efficacy of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and favourable impressions of transition services. Additionally, it highlighted the impact of cultural variables on transition results. The assessment of indirect effects confirmed that cultural variables partially mitigate the connection between IEPs and transition assistance. The document provides practical suggestions for enhancing the efficiency of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), improving cultural proficiency among educators, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders, and guiding policies. These findings contribute to ongoing efforts to develop inclusive and culturally appropriate transition programs for students with impairments in Saudi Arabia.
This research aims to analyze the contribution of the Industrial World Business program in improving the work skills and work readiness of people with disabilities through the Systematic Literature Review method. The involvement of businesses and industries in developing inclusive programs for people with disabilities is an important key to bridging the skills gap and employment opportunities. This research identifies various programs, best practices, and challenges in implementing these programs. Based on the results of the literature reviewed, it was found that inclusive job training programs significantly improve the technical and non-technical skills of people with disabilities while strengthening their readiness to face a competitive job market. On the other hand, there are still obstacles in the accessibility and adaptation of training programs that must continue to be optimized. However, to achieve greater inclusivity, improvements are still needed in terms of accessibility, program adaptation, and efforts to reduce discrimination in the world of work. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a basis for policymakers, industry players, and educational institutions to continue to develop inclusive programs and empower people with disabilities in the world of work. Collaboration between industry and vocational service providers is critical to improving employment outcomes and facilitating a successful transition from education to employment for people with disabilities.
This study aims to identify gaps in Indonesia’s national social health insurance scheme (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional or JKN) in meeting the right to health for disabled persons in the country and to propose strategies to mitigate the gaps. This study employed descriptive qualitative methodologies. A questionnaire survey and structured interviews were undertaken from the period of October to December 2021, with a purposive sample of 317 disabled persons at their working age. Data collection also included on-site observations to sample of healthcare providers in six provinces and focused group discussions with key stakeholders. This study found that JKN is the primary source of hope for disabled persons. Nevertheless, approximately ten percent of disabled persons have been omitted from the scheme. Moreover, respondents of the survey expressed notably lower satisfaction level compared to the national average. Meanwhile, 25% of them also reported that JKN did not cover certain disability-specific benefits. The findings suggest that the national social health insurance scheme is not well prepared to offer disability-inclusive services. Thereby, policymakers should implement various interventions to improve the admission processes for disabled persons and to develop a system to identify disabled members based on their specific disabilities. Additionally, stipulating standards for disability-friendly minimum services for healthcare providers and incorporating the standards into the credentialing systems, providing regular training on disability-friendly services for healthcare personnel, also enhancing benefits coverage for disabled members in the Indonesian Case Base Groups (INA-CBGs) are the necessary strategies to mitigate the gaps.
This study aims to explore the feasibility of using virtual reality technology to educate students with learning difficulties in the Asir region. To achieve the study aims, the researcher employed a descriptive design and deployed a quantitative technique, depending on the questionnaire as the main instrument for data collection. The research was carried out on a cohort of 240 educators hailing from the Asir region who were enlisted through a process of random sampling. The results of this study show that factors like infrastructure, human resources, administrative regulation, and student population have an impact on the use of virtual reality technology. The results suggest that there are no statistically significant differences in the development of using virtual reality technology among teachers of students with learning disabilities in the Asir region when taking into account factors such as experience and level of qualification.
