The effect of foliar treatment with brassinosteroid (BR) on gender distribution in flowers of walnut (Juglans regia L. cv. Chandler) was investigated. Grafted walnut saplings (‘Chandler’) on the wild walnut (Juglans regia L.) rootstock were planted into 70-liter pots with a soil: peat: perlite medium and grown in pots between 2016–2020. BRs (24-epibrassinolide; EBR and 22(S), 23(S)-homobrassinolide; HBR) were applied at a concentration of 1 mg L–1 for four consecutive years at the time of flower differentiation. The experimental design was completely randomized with three replicates. The results show that BR applications could alter the sexual distribution of the walnut’s flower. BRs application significantly increased the number of total flowers and female flowers per tree. The number of female flowers was also increased by the season. The highest number of female flowers (20.9) was observed in the trees in 2020 and the application of 1 mg L–1 of HBR. It was determined that the annual growth of the plant and the increase in the number of females and total flowers were positively related. The effect of BRs indicated that the response was BR-type specific.
The intersex person’s social isolation condition is the leading concern in inclusive educational practices. It provides for the relevance of intersex communities with the influence of social isolation on their education and well-being. Given the underlying problem, this paper stresses the isolation-free condition of the intersex community by facilitating inclusive education. The Atkinson and Shiffrin Model and Behaviorism-Based Intersex Theory supports inclusive education by extending the desire to significantly manage stereotypes, quality teaching, parental beliefs, expressions, physique, and intersex attribution. The qualitative research method analyses the reducing role of social isolation for inclusive education. The semi-structured interview research instrument is used for the data collection from the Ministry of Human Rights, Educational Institutions, and inter-sex Representatives. The results show that managing directors and heads of educational institutions frame policy management for the free social isolation of intersex persons, which is relevant through inclusive education. This paper aims to provide a better social condition for intersex persons and promote inclusive education through effective policy management.
Yu Dafu's The Sinking of the Nation tells the story of a young man whose sexual desire is unsatisfied, and the process of sinking until his death, which aptly expresses the uncertainty and helplessness of the youth of the May Fourth Movement, and highlights the individual's subjective consciousness. The article analyzes and explains from the background of the creation era, the creator and the text to show that the unsatisfied sexual desire is the key to lead the protagonist "he" to sink step by step, and then explains that the expression of the individual consciousness in "Sinking" is higher than the will of the state, and tries to restore the author's original intention to make a pluralistic supplement to the interpretation of "Sinking".
Enterprise green innovation drives sustainable development and contributes to the realization of a ‘beautiful China’. It enhances resource utilization, reduces energy consumption, and achieves economic-environmental objectives through technological advancements. This paper examines the impact of the gender composition of a company’s CEO and CFO on green innovation by empirical research method using the data of the firms listed on Chinese capital market from 2015 to 2022. Our findings indicate that: (1) Male CEOs and CFOs are more likely to promote green innovation compared to their female counterparts; (2) Leadership teams comprising opposite-sex pairs tend to weaken the promotion of green innovation. These conclusions are consistent across state-owned enterprises and within the manufacturing sector. This study provides a novel perspective on enterprise green innovation, offering insights for companies regarding their green innovation strategies and for policymakers in shaping relevant policies.
This study investigates the buying styles of young consumers, especially the millennials—Gen Y, and Gen Z whose idiosyncrasies and consumption peculiarities are quite different from the older generations. Besides Sproles and Kendall’s eight (8) consumer-style inventory dimensions, this study presents new dimensions and develops six constructs that define young consumers’ decision-style inventory in a developing market. The study population consisted of all younger consumers—Gen Y, and Gen Z in Lagos State, Nigeria. One hundred and twenty-five (125) respondents were selected randomly across all 20 Local Governments in Lagos State, Nigeria. Factor analyses through varimax rotation, latent root criterion (eigenvalue = 1), screen plot test and the percentage of variance were conducted to determine the significant factors to retain among the variables. The findings clearly showed that newly developed CSI constructs in this study (sexiness, trendiness, global branding, smartness, socialisation and entertainment) were strong and significant among young consumers’ decision-making styles. The six (6) constructs developed showed that the younger consumers’ consumption styles are evolving, becoming sophisticated and relatively dynamic, hence the reliance on Sproles and Kendall’s dimensions to measure the younger consumers’ consumption decision styles will be inadequate in business/behaviour strategy development. The dimensions of entertainment, sexy, social, trendy, smartness and global branding variables are mostly underpinned and dominate considerations in purchase decision styles and behaviours among young consumers.
Culture is a cohesive system of values, meanings, and behaviors. This study follows Hofstede’s framework of cultural dimensions, which is widely studied in different contexts. Although culture is a subject of extensive research, few recent studies evaluate culture between countries. This study analyzed the cultural dimensions identified in two Latin American countries: Colombia and Chile. In addition, it evaluated differences in both countries by sex. The study was conducted with 382 workers from Chile and 617 from Colombia. Significant differences were found between Colombia and Chile in power distance, paternalism, and masculinity-femininity. This exploratory study may contribute to discussing the role of culture and sex in organizations operating in different countries.
