For this, the primary aim of this study was to analyze of the impact of cultural accessibility and ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure on economic growth in Kazakhstan, employing regression models to asses a single country data from 2008 to 2022. The research focuses on two sets of variables: cultural development variables (e.g., number of theaters, museums, and others) and ICT infrastructure variables (e.g., number of fixed Internet subscribers, total costs of ICT, and others). Principal component analysis (PCA) as employed to reduce the dimensionality of the data and identify the most significant predictors for the regression models. The findings indicate that in the cultural development model (Model 1), the number of recreational parks and students are significant positive predictors of GDP per capita. In the ICT infrastructure model (Model 2), ICT costs are found to have a significant positive impact on GDP per capita. Conversely, traditional connectivity indicators, such as the number of fixed telephone lines, show a low dependence on economic growth, suggesting diminishing returns on investment in these outdated forms of ICT. These results suggest that investments in cultural and ICT infrastructure are crucial for economic development. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers, emphasizing the need for quality improvements in education and strategic modernization of communication technologies.
This paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on financial inclusion in China, a country with a significant agricultural sector and an evolving digital landscape. The pandemic has accelerated the shift towards digital financial services, underscoring disparities in access. This study explores the pre- and post-pandemic scenarios of financial inclusion in China, evaluates the economic and social impacts of the pandemic, and assesses the role of digital transformation in the financial sector. It also investigates the changing roles of commercial banks and microfinance institutions, the integration of technology in finance, and the development of rural-urban economic linkages. The paper aims to propose strategies to enhance financial inclusion, ensuring it reaches the most vulnerable, and concludes with recommendations for creating a more equitable and robust economic system.
The rapid digitalisation of business processes and the widespread adoption of remote work since the COVID‑19 pandemic have forced private enterprises to re‑examine the role of human resource management (HRM). Drawing on the resource‑based view, this study investigates how digital HR strategies—covering recruitment & selection, training & development, performance management and digital employee services—affect employee engagement and firm performance in a context where a significant portion of the workforce operates remotely. Using survey data from 150 employees and managers in 50 privately owned firms in Chongqing, China, supplemented by semi‑structured interviews with HR leaders, we develop a digital HR adoption index and test its impact on remote work effectiveness and organisational performance. The results show that higher levels of digital HR adoption positively influence employee engagement, reduce perceptions of relative deprivation and cyberloafing, and enhance remote work effectiveness. Regression analysis further indicates that remote work effectiveness mediates the relationship between digital HR adoption and organisational performance. Qualitative insights highlight the importance of leadership support, training and the integration of platforms such as WeChat Work, DingTalk and Tencent Meeting for managing remote teams. Our findings offer evidence‑based recommendations for private enterprises in emerging economies to align digital HR strategies with remote working arrangements, support employee well‑being and sustain performance.
Entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in improving college students' entrepreneurial skills. With the significant momentum gained by digital entrepreneurship, there is an urgent need for digital transformation in entrepreneurship education. However, entrepreneurship education digital transformation (EEDT) is developing in a rapid but fragmented manner, which requires more systematic guidance. This study aims to assess the current research themes and formulate a framework for entrepreneurship education digital transformation. The research employs a systematic literature review and a theory triangulation method. According to the review’s outcome, which focused on 56 articles published between 2018 and 2023, the researcher constructed a conceptual framework for entrepreneurship education digital transformation. To test the construct validity of the framework, the researcher modified it twice through theory triangulation, following the guidelines of the entrepreneurship education ecosystem theory and the education digital transformation framework. This study offers recommendations for research and practice in digital transformation of entrepreneurship education, encompassing a holistic strategy, new educational approaches, novel curriculum designs, and the enhancement of digital literacy among entrepreneurship teachers.
This research investigates the determinants of digital transformation among Vietnamese logistics service providers (LSPs). Employing the Technological-Organizational-Environmental framework and Resource Fit theory, the study identifies key factors influencing this process across different three stages: digitization, digitalization, digital transformation. Data from in-depth interviews with industry experts and a survey of 390 LSPs were analyzed using covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). The findings reveal that the factors influencing the digital transformation of Vietnamese LSPs evolve across different stages. In the initial phase, information technology infrastructure, financial resources, employee capabilities, external pressures, and support services are key determinants. As digitalization progresses, leadership emerges as a crucial factor alongside the existing ones. In the final stage, the impact of these factors persists, with leadership and employee capabilities becoming increasingly important.
