This study investigated the impact of social media on purchasing decision-making using data from a questionnaire survey of 257 randomly sampled students from the College of Business at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. The study items were selected from the study community through a random sample, where several (257) students were surveyed. To achieve its objectives, the study follows the descriptive analytical approach in addressing its topic. The questionnaire was adopted as a tool for collecting data. The questionnaire collected data on the independent variable social media—and the dimensions of the dependent variables representing the stages of purchasing decision-making: Feeling the need for the advertised goods, collecting information about alternatives, evaluating available options, buying decisions, and post-purchase evaluation of the purchase decision. Then, the data were analyzed based on regression analysis using SPSS and AMOS. The important findings are summarized below: Social media use is directly related to feeling the need for and searching for information on advertised goods. Social communication and the evaluation of alternatives to advertised goods, in addition to the existence of a moral effect and a direct correlation between social media use and making the purchasing decision for advertised goods. Providing honest, sufficient, and accurate information via social media to the buyer can help them make the purchasing decision.
This paper focuses on the analysis of educational institutions’ communication on social media, with an emphasis on the individual type of content used by these institutions to increase engagement and interaction with current and potential students. The authors examine how educational institutions tailor their communication content on Facebook and Instagram to meet the expectations and needs of their target audience. The analysis includes content evaluation, frequency of posts, user interaction, and integration of multimedia elements. In our research we focused on private school segment from kindergartens, through primary to secondary schools. The paper also presents an analysis of the differences of communication on different platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and their impact on the digital communication strategy of private schools. The results suggest that despite the increasing popularity of Instagram and higher interaction, educational institutions are communicating more on Facebook.
Participation in the implementation of green values that are becoming a global norm often experiences challenges. In response with trends of social media use, a study of barriers to green product purchase intention among social media users is conducted. By descriptive qualitative approach, three keywords are employed, namely: (1) “barriers to green consumption”; (2) “barriers of purchase intention; and (3) “social media use and barriers to green consumption”. The findings reveal: (1) the study of barriers to green product purchase intention among social media users has been gaining importance for future research; (2) the potential future research area includes: (a) the level of belief in green products purchase intention that explains the rationalization of green consumption (green knowledge); and (b) the use of digital media through the role of social media in promoting green consumption (green promotion). The theoretical implication emphasizes contribution to the theory of sustainable marketing, namely barriers as dynamics of market interactivity that are capable of generating responsiveness leading to business competitiveness. While practical implication is shown in business efforts to transform challenges into opportunity.
This research explores the role of social media in the political construction of identity, analyzing how these platforms mediate the expression and formation of individual and group political identities. The focus is on how social media changes the dynamics of communication and social interaction, facilitating the formation of “echo chambers” and increasing political polarization. Additionally, this study highlights challenges such as disinformation and the implications of social media for the health of democracy. As a researcher, I aim to highlight the broader implications of using social media in identity politics. By analyzing the impact of social media on political dynamics in Indonesia, this study reveals how social media influences public perception and political decisions. This study identifies how social media can be used as a tool to mobilize political support, but also how these platforms can spread disinformation and reinforce political polarization. Based on these concerns, researchers have not yet found research results that examine how social media specifically impacts the construction of political identity. This research aims to highlight how social media not only acts as a communication tool but also as a medium that influences the way individuals view and express their political identity. Through a qualitative approach, this study provides new insights into the impact of social media in contemporary political dynamics and the importance of digital literacy in addressing issues of identity politics in the digital era.
Hate speech in higher education institutions is a pressing issue that threatens democratic values and social cohesion. This research explores student perspectives on hate speech within the university setting, examining its forms, causes, and impacts on democratic principles such as freedom of expression and inclusivity. This research is extended to determine the debates and theories elaborated from different perspectives qualitative and quantitative analysis of data collected from 108 participants at Higher Education in Kosovo. From the communication standpoint, analyzing hate speech in the media and social media is key to understanding the type of message used, its emitter, how the message rallies supporters, and how they interpret message. The findings highlight the need for proactive policies and educational interventions to mitigate Research on hate speech in higher education in Kosovo is crucial for fostering social cohesion and inclusivity in its diverse society. Hate speech undermines the academic environment, negatively affecting students’ mental health, learning outcomes, and overall well-being, necessitating efforts to create safer educational spaces. The study aligns with Kosovo’s aspirations for European integration, emphasizing adherence to human rights and anti-discrimination principles. Despite the issue’s significance, there is a lack of empirical data on hate speech in Kosovo’s higher education, making this research vital for evidence-based policymaking. With a youth-centric focus, the study aims to educate and empower young people as future leaders to embrace respect and inclusivity. By addressing hate speech’s local challenges and global relevance, the research supports institutional reforms and offers valuable insights for post-conflict and multicultural societies. Hate speech while fostering a culture of mutual respect and democratic engagement.
With the continuous development of network has also greatly developed, exploring the role of social network relationships and attachment emotions on consumer intention helps community managers to promote community purchases for more consumer. As another core component of social e-commerce, social media influencer also has a significant influence on consumer intention. This study systematically analyzed the effects of social network relationships and social media influencer characteristics on consumer purchase intentions. Introduced consumer attachment and perceived value as mediating variables to construct the research framework of this study. This article adopts quantitative analysis methods to test the research hypotheses proposed. This article collected 600 first-hand data in the form of a survey questionnaire and analyzed the data using AMOS and SPSS statistical software. The empirical analysis in this article confirms that social network relationships has a significant impact on consumer purchase intentions; social media influencer characteristics has a significant impact on consumer purchase intentions; consumer attachment has a significant impact on perceived value; consumer attachment plays a mediating role in the effect of social network relationships on consumers purchase intentions; perceived value plays no mediating role in the effect of social media influencer characteristics on consumer purchase intentions; perceived value plays a mediating role in the effect of consumer attachment on consumer purchase intentions; consumer attachment and perceived value have a chain mediating role between social network relationships and consumer purchase intentions.
