Evolution of sustainable development goals research in tourism sector. A bibliometric review

Since the United Nations’ approval of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the tourism industry has been identified as one that causes the greatest environmental deterioration. This has led companies to devise strategies for the management of sustainable practices, which have become one of the main subjects that must be addressed in the literature, making it necessary to open lines of study. The objective of this work, is to identify the intellectual structure of the research field of the SDGs in the tourism sector, using a bibliometric analysis that allows the identification and analysis of the relationships between the topics that have had the greatest impact on the construction of the knowledge base of this discipline. This analysis started with a search on the theme of sustainable development goals and tourism on the Web of Science (WoS) platform between 2013 and 2022. The resulting data was processed with Bibliometrix, allowing for an analysis of indicators, number of articles, and also productivity by country, author and journal. In addition, the nodes (different themes) and clusters (trends) of the field of study were identified, highlighting the main research topics. In recent decades, SDGs has expanded into various sectors especially in the tourism sector, recognizing the importance of sustainable development when developing business activity, using available resources in an economically but also environmentally efficient way. In this sense, the topics stand out: framework, economic-grow, gender and ecotourism.

Research on the Teaching Reform of Curriculum Ideological and Political Integration into Higher Vocational Mathematics

This paper aims to explore the practice and effect of integrating ideological and politics in higher vocational mathematics education. Through the review of relevant literature and the analysis of practical cases, this study analyzes the necessity and feasibility of integrating ideological and political education into higher vocational mathematics teaching, as well as the promoting effect of students' ideological and political education. At the same time, it also discusses how to effectively combine the curriculum thinking and politics with higher vocational mathematics teaching, as well as the strategies and methods to achieve positive results, in order to provide some reference for the majority of higher vocational mathematics teachers.

Strategic digital city: Concept, model, and research cases

Cities, in addition to being physical, are also digital, requiring the use of information technology resources and strategies, information, and services to make appropriate decisions. The objective is to present the strategic digital city (SDC) concept and project model and its research considering the subprojects: city strategies; city information; public services to citizens; and information technology resources applied in cities. The research methodology comprises approaches mixing techniques in respective phases, including bibliometrics assignment, and model theory applied in SDC cases with more than 11 doctoral, 100 master’s, undergraduate, scientific initiation, and postdoctoral program orientations obtained from more than 300 cities since 2003. The results showed that the SDC can be understood as a social project of public policy and is on the city managers’ agenda, as demonstrated in the 8 cases researched and in the more than 86 publications in different scientific international journals in the recent decade. The conclusion reiterates the importance of the participatory and democratic SDC original project accepted to contribute to the proper city management and the citizens’ quality of life expansion, including infrastructure, policy, and city development. Then, the SDC contemporary concept and model have been maintained regularly over the 10 years.

The role of non-parametric and parametric methods in benchmarking research performance

This study examines the effectiveness of Kazakhstan’s grant funding system in supporting research institutions and universities, focusing on the relationship between funding levels, expert evaluations, and research outputs. We analyzed 317 projects awarded grants in 2021, using parametric methods to assess publication outcomes in Scopus and Web of Science databases. Descriptive statistics for 1606 grants awarded between 2021 and 2023 provide additional insights into the broader funding landscape. The results highlight key correlations between funding, evaluation scores, and journal publication percentiles, with a notable negative correlation observed between international and national expert evaluations in specific scientific fields. A productivity analysis at the organizational level was conducted using non-parametric methods to evaluate institutional efficiency in converting funding into research output. Data were manually collected from the National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation and supplemented with publication data from Scopus and Web of Science, using unique grant numbers and principal investigators’ profiles. This comprehensive analysis contributes to the development of an analytical framework for improving research funding policies in Kazakhstan.

Research on the Path of School-based Teaching and Research Assisting Teacher Professional Development

School-based teaching and research (SBTR)is an important way to promote the professional development of teachers, at the same time, SBTR and teacher professional development point to the goal. In china, SBTR has been explored and practiced for many years, and considerable results have been achieved, but there are still realistic dilemmas such as superficial subject cognition, low effectiveness of teaching and research actions, and formalization of system construction. In order to give better play to the value of SBTR to help teachers’ professional development, it is necessary to deepen the recognition of SBTR in the subject consciousness; to improve the effectiveness of SBTR in the implementation of action; and to improve the system construction in the organizational guarantee.
