Cucumber Variety ‘Drite L108’ (Cucumis sativus L. Cv. Derit L108) was selected as the test material. In the solar greenhouse, different days (1, 3, 5, 7, 9 d) of light (PAR < 200 µmol·m-2·s-1) and normal light conditions were designed with shading nets to observe the growth indexes of cucumber plants and the changes of antioxidant enzyme activities in leaves. The results showed that: (1) continuous low light increased the SPAD (relative chlorophyll) value of cucumber leaves and decreased the net photosynthetic rate. The longer the continuous low light days are, the smaller the net photosynthetic rate of cucumber leaves and the worse the photosynthetic recovery ability would be. (2) The plant height, stem diameter and leaf area per plant were lower than CK, and the above indexes could not return to the normal level after 9 days of normal light recovery; the yield and marketability of cucumber fruit decreased under continuous low illumination. (3) The activities of SOD (superoxide dismutase) and POD (peroxidase) in cucumber leaves increased, the activities of CAT (catalase) first increased and then decreased, and the content of MDA (malondialdehyde) continued to increase. The longer the days of continuous light keep, the more seriously the cucumber leaves were damaged by membrane lipid peroxidation. After continuous light for more than 7 days, the metabolic function of cucumber leaves was difficult to recover to the normal level.
In the new era, the Yiban platform has become an important carrier for college counselors to carry out online ideological and political education for college students. Utilizing the Yiban platform to improve the effectiveness of online ideological and political education is a practical need for ideological and political education in universities, but there is a deviation between its actual construction and the expected effect. At present, college counselors face difficulties in carrying out online ideological and political education based on the Yi Ban platform, such as a lack of online thinking, insufficient new media literacy, and weak content innovation. Based on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents, starting from the job responsibilities of counselors, fully utilizing the platform of changing classes, and striving in four directions: improving political literacy and theoretical level, building a composite talent team, valuing the role of "opinion leaders", and adhering to the "content as the king" orientation, can provide a feasible path for comprehensively improving the quality of online ideological and political education for college students.
The semi-arid is a climate characterized by precipitation that is. insufficient to maintain crops and where evaporation often exceeds rainfall. Vegetation is one of the most sensitive indicators of environmental changes understanding the patterns of biodiversity distribution and what influences them is a fundamental pre-requisite for effective conservation and sustainable utilization of biodiversity. In this study. our focus was on examining the vegetation diversity in the semi-arid region of Tebessa. which falls within the Eastern Saharan Atlas domain in North Africa’s semi-arid zone. Plants were sampled at 15 sites distributed across the study area. The quadrat method was used to conduct floral surveys. The sampling area of each sample was 100 square meters 10 m × 10 m (quadrat). Each quadrat was measured for species richness (number of species). abundance (number of individuals). and Richness generic (plant cover). Based on the floristic research. 48 species were found. classified into 21 families. with Asteraceae accounting for 34.69% of the species and Poaceae accounting for 14.28%.
This study explores how public relations (PR) can give universities an edge in today’s competitive landscape. By examining past research, conducting interviews in 10 diverse cities in Vietnam, and analyzing case studies, it reveals the powerful link between PR strategies and student involvement. The research shows that well-crafted PR activities, tailored to different student groups and utilizing digital platforms, significantly impact student perceptions and enrollment decisions. It delves deeper than simply confirming PR’s effectiveness, offering insights into how specific PR tactics can resonate with student needs and expectations. Furthermore, it explores how PR influences student retention, highlighting the long-term benefits for universities. This research is a valuable tool for institutions seeking to thrive. By understanding the power of PR in shaping student decisions, universities can tailor their outreach efforts more effectively. Additionally, the study emphasizes the lasting advantages of a strategic PR approach, contributing to a broader discussion on its importance in higher education. Ultimately, these findings benefit both institutions and students, who can expect improved transparency, engagement, and communication within their academic communities.
Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) was introduced to Mexico in 1959. Currently there is an estimated planted area of 835.96 ha and a production of 8,730.27 tons. The fruit is mainly consumed fresh, but quickly loses its external appearance due to dehydration and browning, which limits its commercialization, an alternative may be minimal processing and adjuvant treatments that extend the shelf life. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of coating with cactus mucilage (Opuntia ficus-indica), in the preservation of minimally processed rambutan stored at 5 °C, in two types of packaging. The rambutan was sanitized with chlorinated water (80 ppm), the epicarp was removed and batches were formed for each treatment. The factors were type of container (polyethylene bag and polystyrene container), coating (with and without coating) and time (0, 3, 6, 6, 10 and 12 d). The coating consisted of mucilage obtained from developing cladodes (15–21 cm), applied by dipping. All treatments were stored at 5 ℃. Total soluble solids (TSS), firmness (N) and color (L*, a*, b*, chroma and hue angle) were evaluated at each storage period. Also, 40 untrained judges (47% male and 53% female) evaluated sensory acceptability, consumption intention and acceptance/rejection. The results showed significant effect (p ≤ 0.05) of package type on firmness, chroma and hue angle. Coating had an effect on L* value and product acceptability. Consumption intention was higher, and was maintained for 10 days, in fruits with coating and packaged in polyethylene bags, stored at 5 ℃.
