The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of internal university social responsibility policies on the administrative personnel of a Colombian university. Under a non-probabilistic sampling method, the study collected information from 58 collaborators selected from a total of 92 working at the university. The information was collected through a structured questionnaire and evaluated using the generalized linear model. The results indicate that administrators perceive that university social responsibility policies have an adverse effect on the work environment. This is justified by the fact that the university’s actions are not oriented towards the welfare of its personnel. In conclusion, universities should concentrate enormous efforts on implementing strategies that foster the commitment of their collaborators, in order to generate a significant impact on their responsibility and motivation.
Despite the proliferation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) studies, it is accruing academic interest since there still remains a lot to be further explored. The purpose of the study is to examine whether/how CSR perception affect employee/intern thriving at work and its mediator through perceived external prestige in the hospitality industry. Data from 501 hospitality industry employees and interns in China were collected using a quantitative survey consisting of 35 questions. Statistical findings showed that CSR perception and thriving at work were positively related. Additionally, perceived external prestige partially mediated the connection between CSR perception and thriving at work. Furthermore, the study found that hotel interns generally exhibited lower levels of CSR perception and thriving at work compared with frontline or managerial staff. The study underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between hotel practitioners and university educators to enhance CSR perception and promote thriving among hotel interns. By prioritizing the improvement of CSR perception and thriving at work, the hotel sector can potentially mitigate workforce shortages and reduce high turnover rates.
Chinese multinational enterprises (MNEs) have increasingly engaged in outward foreign direct investment in recent years, and particularly into the infrastructure sector of developing economies. This has been prompted by the infrastructure-led economic integration plan of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. However, such collaboration faces many challenges. Infrastructure projects are often undertaken in industries, countries, and regions posing particular and difficult challenges, and with divergent, often conflicting interests, with the ensuing conclusion that the MNE is simply exploiting the project and not delivering value to the host country. Overall, not only does the infrastructure project have to be well-functioning with expected returns (or savings) realized, but these projects face close scrutiny from local communities, labor, opposition parties, neighboring countries, and various international bodies and nonprofits, requiring delicate handling of the principals involved. The unfolding of these issues and their management by the multinational are examined through an in-depth longitudinal case study. The data are drawn from major participants and stakeholders around a leading Chinese MNE and the mega project of the construction of a major hydropower plant in Pakistan.
This paper explores the influence of the concept of "moral education" on physical education, and focuses on the application of Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) responsibility teaching model in physical education. Physical education teaching is not only the teaching of skills, but also the indoctrination of values. Through the thought of "cultivating people by virtue", we can make physical education based on moral education and return to the essence of education. The TPSR model makes this idea concrete, emphasizes the personal process and social responsibility, and includes the cultivation of students' sense of responsibility, team spirit and self-management ability in physical education teaching. Through theoretical discussion and empirical analysis, this study revealed the practical application and effect of TPSR model in physical education teaching, proved the importance of this teaching model, and put forward the construction idea of TPSR physical education teaching model. Future research can expand more application scenarios of the TPSR model to achieve better quality and more comprehensive physical education.
Purpose: There have been many studies on corporate social responsibility. Still, research on the dual relationship showing the impact of management control on corporate social responsibility and business performance has not been exciting researchers. The article also identifies and measures the elements of management control that affect compliance with corporate social responsibility and business performance. At the same time, the paper also analyzes the influence of compliance with corporate social responsibility on business performance. From the research results, listed companies will see the importance of designing management control and complying with corporate social responsibility to maximize the business’s profits. Findings: The article demonstrates the practicality of institutional theory in the relationship between management control, corporate social responsibility, and business performance. Institutional theory influences the relationship between management control, CSR, and business performance by highlighting the role of external institutional pressures, legitimacy, and conformity to societal norms. Companies that strategically integrate institutional expectations into their management control systems can enhance their CSR efforts, improve their reputation, and contribute to better business performance. Methodology: We collect data on 195 manufacturing enterprises listed on the Vietnam stock market in 6 sectors. This study’s main data analysis method is the structural equation modeling method (SEM). The article used AMOS software to evaluate and measure the influence of each factor. Practical implications: The article has analyzed five aspects of management control to corporate social responsibility and business performance: Size of the Board of Directors (BOD), percentage of independent members in the BOD, and concurrence. CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, state ownership ratio and foreign shareholder ownership rate. The results show that a company with a CEO who is not the Chairman of the BOD will have a higher level of CSR compliance than a company with a CEO who is also the Chairman of the BOD. The larger the Board size, the higher the level of CSR, but This has not been verified for the company’s business performance. The higher the foreign ownership ratio, the better the CSR compliance; however, this has the opposite direction for the state ownership rate. The higher the percentage of independent members on the Board of Directors, the lower the level of CSR compliance. In terms of impact on business performance in the enterprise: The higher the company’s compliance with corporate social responsibility, the better it’s business performance. A company with a CEO who holds the position of BOD will have lower business performance than companies with a CEO who does not hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Companies with a high percentage of state ownership will have lower business performance. The higher the percentage of independent members on the Board of Directors, the lower the business performance. The study aims to identify the effectiveness of social responsibility programs. More specifically, it seeks to identify the extent to which health institutions use social responsibility programs and to clarify the extent to which social responsibility programs succeed in achieving the goals of health institutions. The study sought to provide answers to the following questions: To what extent do health institutions use social responsibility programs? To what extent have social responsibility programs succeeded in achieving the goals of health institutions? The study used the descriptive analytical method, relying on the survey method. The study concluded with many results, the most important of which were the following: the effectiveness of social responsibility programs in marketing health services at the educational and age levels and the role of social media in marketing health services. The study recommended the necessity of providing an awareness dimension to marketing health services, with increasing training opportunities for workers in public relations departments in hospitals and health institutions to market health services, in addition to the necessity of conducting relevant research, studies, and surveys. Identify the activities that will help those working in the public relations department in health facilities with regard to identifying basic and influential needs and activities in directing successful health campaigns.
