In response to the increasing youth unemployment rate and the demand for future-oriented career development, university student entrepreneurship has emerged as a critical domain in both economic policy and education. This study conducts a comprehensive literature review to examine the interrelationships between entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial competency, and entrepreneurial intention among university students, with an emphasis on the Human Resource Development (HRD) perspective. The review reveals that entrepreneurial mindset significantly influences students’ intention to start a business, while entrepreneurship education contributes both directly and indirectly through the development of entrepreneurial competencies. Entrepreneurial competencies serve as a practical foundation for translating intention into action and are integral to HRD’s goal of competency-based talent development. The study further highlights that entrepreneurship education aligned with HRD principles—such as experiential learning, self-directed development, and learning organization frameworks—can foster employability and self-employment capacity. This integrative analysis suggests that university entrepreneurship programs should not be seen merely as policy instruments, but rather as strategic HRD initiatives for developing future-ready, opportunity-creating human capital. Implications for educational design, policy development, and future empirical research are discussed.
In the domain of public management, the concept of agency refers to the capacity of individuals or groups to effectively utilise power and resources to achieve certain goals. The formation of agency is significantly influenced by the external institutional environment and how actors perceive social structures. Thus, the agency to win a game can be generated as players familiarise with the game’s operations and understand the story line. But beyond this, there are also players who make mods on a non-profit basis, modifying the game’s program to meet the needs of others. mods, as a form of patching, are different from other fan-created mediated texts. Therefore, studying the agency in gaming community management, where both players and developers interact, offers valuable insights for understanding how to promote public participation, innovation, and effective governance in the context of public management. This approach bridges the gap between the digital world and real-world public management practices.
In today's changing world of work, Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM)) still focuses on making workers more productive. This study systematically examines the mediating function of incentives both monetary and non-monetary between antecedent characteristics (e.g., leadership, organizational culture) and employee productivity using a systematic literature review (SLR) of papers published from 2010 to 2024. The review adheres to PRISMA principles and integrates 18 peer-reviewed studies chosen through a stringent screening and quality evaluation process from Scopus and Google Scholar. The results show that the success of incentives depends a lot on things like the ideals of the business, the style of leadership, and the demographics of the workforce. Thematic analysis, informed by the Ability-Motivation-Opportunity (AMO) theory and Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) frameworks, delineates four principal processes by which incentives affect productivity: goal alignment, perceived equity, motivational pathways, and cultural congruence. The research emphasizes the necessity of customizing incentive systems to specific organizational contexts and offers practical guidance for HR professionals. Recognizing limitations and publishing bias, suggestions for future incentive system design are presented.
This study examines the viability and user acceptance of a Cultural Healing Virtual Museum as a novel method for enhancing employee well-being and psychological health in organizational environments. The research shows how combining art and design can create engaging cultural experiences, looking at how visual appeal, space layout, and interactive technology can help reduce stress, build emotional strength, and teach employees about culture. The study focuses on middle-aged working individuals, especially those facing stress and sub-health issues, utilizing a mixed-methods approach with 381 participants. Notably, 87.14% of participants reported awareness of the concept of cultural healing, and over 78% indicated a willingness to engage with immersive cultural wellness tools. Research indicates a pronounced inclination toward culturally relevant virtual settings that integrate traditional healing practices—such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), calligraphy, and meditation themes—with modern digital aesthetics. The findings demonstrate that art-based immersive components markedly improve emotional well-being, cultivate trust in organizational health programs, and elevate the propensity to participate in preventative self-care activities. Principal elements influencing engagement comprised visual coherence, symbolic significance, and emotional impact. Even though most feedback was positive, some participants expressed concerns about how comfortable they were with technology and using virtual reality, pointing out the need for easy training and designs that include everyone. These findings suggest that immersive wellness strategies rooted in art and heritage can contribute directly to human capital development by boosting proactive health behavior and reducing psychological strain. This research highlights the possibility of incorporating art, cultural heritage, and immersive technology into workplace wellness initiatives to bolster employee well-being, improve psychological health, and facilitate human capital development.
Public recreation hubs play an important role in enhancing physical activities, social contacts, and the health status of a community. The quality of the experience in such a setting influences user satisfaction and dedication; however, there are limited studies that can adapt well-advanced conceptual frameworks to capture unique characteristics of the public recreation feature. This study investigates user expectations and perceptions of service quality within public recreation hubs in Gauteng Province, South Africa. Data collection was obtained through a cross-section of 385 respondents using a SERVQUAL instrument from 22 recreational hubs. Various statistical analyses were performed, of which the EFA produced a nine-factor solution and not the customary five SERVQUAL dimensions. Important findings include the emergence of an intersection of the constructs of empathy and assurance, thereby suggesting that the dimensions are perceived as connected in the context of relational services. In addition, program quality and community engagement came out as two other important dimensions, representing the expectation for pluralism in provision, or inclusiveness and participation. Demographic differences were significant, gender differences existed in the perception of tangibles and reliability. It provides useful recommendations for managers of recreational hubs and policymakers. It could improve tangible factors with standard maintenance activities, improved infrastructure, and coordinated operational routines that improve its reliability. Targeted training among the staff for empathy and reassurance, and programming targeted to meet demographic needs, can be helpful in serving the various needs. Community building strategies, such as participatory planning and outreach programs, help make the people who feel included in them and loyal to facilities stay. It will not only help in offering better service delivery but also ensure that facilities within such public recreation hubs last long. This work contributes to service quality theory because it applies the SERVQUAL framework in a community-based recreational environment and shows its practical benefit in service delivery improvement of public services. Further work should adopt longitudinal methods and multi-regional analyses in the development and refinement of such findings to enhance generalisability across settings. Results have important implications for the development of user-focused, sustainable public recreation services compatible with changing community needs.
This study investigated the level of satisfaction among consumers of special tea (Monsonia burkeana) in the Capricorn District Municipality, Limpopo Province, South Africa. It sought to identify the factors that influenced this satisfaction. A total of 225 respondents were selected using snowball sampling, and primary data were collected through structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse consumer profiles and satisfaction levels, while multinomial logistic regression determined the factors influencing satisfaction across four categories: “Not satisfied at all”, “Satisfied”, “Not sure”, and “Highly satisfied”. The results revealed an average respondent age of 29.95 years and an average annual tea consumption of 4.684 uses, with over 50% of both male and female respondents expressing satisfaction. Regression analysis indicated that market access, cultural influences, income level, and the person introducing the tea significantly influenced dissatisfaction relative to high satisfaction. The income level was the only significant factor distinguishing “Satisfied” from “Highly satisfied”. Gender, age, marital status, and employment type were significant predictors for “Not sure” compared to “Highly satisfied”. These findings highlight the importance of developing the medicinal plant market, promoting cultural education, and implementing sustainable cultivation and conservation practices for Monsonia burkeana. Efforts to improve market access and address income disparities are also necessary to enhance consumer satisfaction and ensure the tea’s continued availability and cultural relevance.
