This study investigated the students’ perceptions of a self-paced fitness program that is integrated with SitFit, a fitness tracker that measures body inclination during sit-up exercises, and their acceptance of digital innovation in physical education. The data was gathered from a survey of 1001 Thai undergraduates. Results revealed that attitudes toward using the technology and the perceived ease of use were important predictors of behavioral intention to use the sit-up fitness tracker. consistent with previous TAM studies. Subsequently, SitFit was developed based on exercise principles and expert advice to enable users to exercise more effectively while reducing injury risk.
The need for strategic alignment within HR management increased managers' concern about individual behavior and how this behavior was related to the achievement of goals. In public management, effectively managing employees' performance has been necessary since Weber's bureaucratic administration. The individual performance appraisal is the right tool to assess employees' competencies. Thus, we proposed the following research question: Which factors, as pointed out by theory, have the most significant influence on the individual performance appraisal process? The quantitative method was applied to answer this question, developing and testing a scale via EFA and a hypothetical model via SEM-CB. The results indicated a scale with 25 items able to access the main points of the IPA process and a hypothetical model with 7 constructs that indicate the influence on employee engagement. The main finding is the significant influence of feedback on the whole process. The main theoretical contribution was the construction of the MIPAS scale, and the practical contribution was to identify the points where managers should focus on improving the IPA process with their subordinates.
Scientists have harnessed the diverse capabilities of nanofluids to solve a variety of engineering and scientific problems due to high-temperature predictions. The contribution of nanoparticles is often discussed in thermal devices, chemical reactions, automobile engines, fusion processes, energy results, and many industrial systems based on unique heat transfer results. Examining bioconvection in non-Newtonian nanofluids reveals diverse applications in advanced fields such as biotechnology, biomechanics, microbiology, computational biology, and medicine. This study investigates the enhancement of heat transfer with the impact of magnetic forces on a linearly stretched surface, examining the two-dimensional Darcy-Forchheimer flow of nanofluids based on blood. The research explores the influence of velocity, temperature, concentration, and microorganism profile on fluid flow assumptions. This investigation utilizes blood as the primary fluid for nanofluids, introducing nanoparticles like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (. The study aims to explore their interactions and potential applications in the field of biomedicine. In order to streamline the complex scheme of partial differential equations (PDEs), boundary layer assumptions are employed. Through appropriate transformations, the governing partial differential equations (PDEs) and their associated boundary conditions are transformed into a dimensionless representation. By employing a local non-similarity technique with a second-degree truncation and utilizing MATLAB’s built-in finite difference code (bvp4c), the modified model’s outcomes are obtained. Once the calculated results and published results are satisfactorily aligned, graphical representations are used to illustrate and analyze how changing variables affect the fluid flow characteristics problems under consideration. In order to visualize the numerical variations of the drag coefficient and the Nusselt number, tables have been specially designed. Velocity profile of -blood and -blood decreases for increasing values of and , while temperature profile increases for increasing values of and . Concentration profile decreases for increasing values of , and microorganism profile increases for increasing values of . For rising values of and the drag coefficient increases and the Nusselt number decreases for rising values of and The model introduces a novel approach by conducting a non-similar analysis of the Darchy-Forchheimer bioconvection flow of a two-dimensional blood-based nanofluid in the presence of a magnetic field.
Biomass energy is abundant, clean, and carbon dioxide neutral, making it a viable alternative to fossil fuels in the near future. The release of syngas from biomass thermochemical treatments is particularly appealing since it may be used in a variety of heat and power generation systems. When a syngas with low tar and contaminants is required, downdraft gasifiers are usually one of the first gasification devices deployed. It is time-consuming and impractical to evaluate a gasification system's performance under multiple parameters, using every type of biomass currently available, which makes rapid simulation techniques with well-developed mathematical models necessary for the efficient and economical use of energy resources. This work attempts to examine, through model and experimentation, how well a throated downdraft gasification system performs when using pretreatment biomass feedstock that has been characterized. For the analyses, peanut shell (PS), a biomass waste easily obtained locally, was used. The producer gas generated with 9 mm PS pellets had a composition of 17.93% H2, 24.43 % CO, 12.47 % CO2, and 1.22% CH4 on a wet basis at the value of 0.3 equivalency ratio and 800 °C gasification temperature. The calorific value was found to be 4.96 MJ/Nm3. The biomass feedstock PS is found to be suitable for biomass gasification in order to produce syngas.
Agriculture is an industry that plays an essential role in economic development towards eliminating poverty issues, but foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to this sector remain modest in Vietnam. This study analyzed the determinants of foreign direct investment in the agricultural sector into the Southern Key Economic Zone (KEZ) of Vietnam, which is considered the foreign direct investment magnet of Vietnam, but its FDI inflows into the agricultural sector have been consistently low, and has shown a downward trend in recent years. The study was based on a sample of 129 foreign investors of a total of 164 multinational enterprises (MNEs) in the agricultural sector, including representatives of the Board of Directors and representatives at the department level. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used to test the hypotheses. Findings indicated that FDI attraction policies have the strongest impact on FDI inflows. This was followed by infrastructure, regional agriculture policies, public service quality, natural conditions, and human resources. This study suggests policy recommendations to improve foreign direct investment inflows into the agricultural sector of the Southern Key Economic Zone (KEZ) of Vietnam.
The purpose of the current study is to examine the mediating role of intercultural communicative competence on the relationship between teaching of English language and learning at Chinese higher vocational colleges. The convenience sampling technique was used to collect data from 668 teachers, teaching English language subjects in different public and private Chinese higher vocational colleges. Smart partial least squares-structural equation modeling on SmartPLS software version 4 was used to test the hypotheses. The result revealed the direct effect of English language teaching (ELT) is not significant on English language learning (ELL). However, the intercultural communicative competences (ICC) have been tested and proved to be a potential mediator between English language teaching and learning. Because the indirect effect of ELT on ELL is positive and significant through mediator ICC. Therefore, based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the inclusion of intercultural communication ability is a crucial component in the vocational education of college students. Policymakers should be cautious about promoting and expanding the availability of cultural teaching and learning across demographic conditions (e.g., linguistic and ethnic diversity, age, and gender) and various levels of language proficiency. In accordance with the effects of teacher education and professional development programs, the implementation of ICC content necessitates a harmonization of pedagogical approaches and assessment practices across designated levels in order to effectively achieve educational objectives. To promote ICC in English language education, there must be clear guidelines and communication to school leaders, educators, and administrators regarding the necessity and goals of cultural integration.
