considering the rate of the currency channel, this study aims to analyze the effect of government foreign debt on labour demand in Indonesia. The Real Effective Exchange Rate (REER) is used to quantify the exchange rate, while estimates of the labour force participation rate characterize labour demand. this study expands upon the cobb-Douglass production function by including public debt as an integral element of the statistical model. The current study examines time series data from 1994 to 2022 and uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) for estimation. in conclusion, the results suggest that an increase in government external debt would result in a decline in labour demand, especially during economic shock associated with an expansion of the government deficit. Moreover, the Real Effective Exchange Rate has a beneficial long-term impact on labour demand. enhancing the purchasing power and stimulating investment through the appreciation of the domestic currency against foreign currencies will consequently increase economic productivity.
The combination of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polyamide 6 (PA6) plastic mixture was taken from waste from the table production process along with carbon black (CB) reinforcement with the desire to create a potential plastic mixture widely used in many fields. The PBT/PA6/CB mix is created by injection molding with a CB weight ratio of 0%, 4%, 8%, and 12%. This study has shown the change in plastic’s mechanical properties when adding CB to the mixture by testing the unnotched impact toughness according to ASTM D256 standards. Research results show that the unnotched impact toughness was gradually reduced when increasing the CB content in the mixture from 0% to 12% CB. Specifically, at 0% CB, the resulting unnotched impact toughness was 12.85 kJ/m2, reduced to 4.78 kJ/m2.
Many previous studies find no significant effect of health insurance on health outcome in rural areas of China. Many researchers believe this could be because of the characteristics of health care provision in those areas. In this paper, we aim to examine if urbanization will change the situation. Our research question focuses on if urbanization will change the participation and performance of health insurance on health outcome in a positive direction. Using a longitudinal sample drawn from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS), we employed multiple estimation strategies for multiple waves to handle the potential selection bias. We find that urbanization factors such as population density, transportations and housing are associated with probability of insurance participation. That is, urbanization related factors tend to increase people’s willingness of insurance participation. We also conclude that urbanization improves the performance of insurance on self-reported health outcome. Results show that the health insurance has a significant positive impact on health production in urbanized areas. Health insurance in general increases the probability of health care utilization for all areas. However, it does not lead to a significant improvement in the health outcomes in under urbanized areas because of the health provision quality or characteristics of health insurance coverage in those areas.
