Adult obesity is a significant health problem, with nearly a quarter of Hungarian citizens aged 15 years and older being obese in 2019 (KSH, 2019a). The use of mobile devices for health purposes is increasing, and many m-health apps target weight-related behaviours. This study uniquely examines the effectiveness and user satisfaction of health-oriented apps among Hungarian adults, with a focus on health improvement. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study identifies six key determinants of health improvement and refines measurement tools by modifying existing parameters and introducing new constructs. The principal objective was to develop a measurement instrument for the usability of nutrition, relaxation and health promotion applications. The research comprised three phases: (1) qualitative content analysis of 13 app reviews conducted in June 2022; (2) focus group interviews involving 32 students from the fields of business, economics and health management; and (3) an online survey (n = 348 users) conducted in December 2023 that included Strava (105 users), Yazio (109 users) and Calm (134 users). Six factors were identified as determinants of health improvement: physical activity, diet, weight loss, general well-being, progress, and body knowledge. The LAUQ (Lifestyle Application Usability Questionnaire) scale was validated, including 'ease of use' (5 items), 'interface and satisfaction' (7 items) and 'modified usefulness and effectiveness' (9 items), with modifications based on qualitative findings. This research offers valuable insights into the factors influencing health improvement and user satisfaction with healthy lifestyle-oriented applications. It also contributes to the refinement of measurement tools such as the LAUQ, which will inform future studies in health psychology, digital health, and behavioural economics.
There is no denying that the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in significant stress worldwide and impacted practically every aspect of human activity. The impacts of this deadly virus on education are not seen as gaining much-needed focus from the scientific research community. The majority of educational institutions globally switched to online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there were considerable differences in the technical readiness of various nations. In this regard, the study’s attempt to provide a way forward for how the educational sector ought to manage the challenges brought on by COVID-19 issues in support of online educational activities. Since some of the consequences that resulted have an impact on the educational sector, the answers presumably also should have included innovations that would improve scientific research to lessen its effects. Particularly, it appears there is still much that has to be done about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the educational sector. Hence, this perspective review study aims to explore the potential relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the educational sector while suggesting a way forward.
In this article, generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) is used to study the free vibrational behavior of variable cross section nano beams. Eringen's nonlocal elastic theory is taken into account to model the small scale effects and nonuniformity is assumed by exponentially varying the width of nano beam. Governing equation of motion is solved using generalized differential quadrature method with different numbers of sampling points. Effects of increasing the sampling points in reaching more accurate results for first three frequency parameters are presented and it is shown that after a specific number of sampling points, results merge to a certain accurate number. It is concluded that generalized differential quadrature method is able to reach the correct answers comparing to analytical results. Moreover, due to the stiffness softening behavior of small-scale structures, necessity of using Eringen's nonlocal elastic theory to model the small scale effects due to the frequency variation is observed. |
Using matricant method elastic moduli of occasionally heterogeneous isotropic and anisotropic elastic media were received. Anisotropic behaviour and conditions for change in anisotropy of media associated with averaging of one-dimensional periodic structures was determined.
The article aims at developing an efficient and stable catalysts for simultaneous hydrogenation of o-chloronitrobenzene to o-chloroaniline and 1,4-butanediol dehydrogenation to γ-butyrolactone. A series of CoO-Cu-MgO catalysts, composed of 10 wt% of copper, various amount of cobalt loadings (1, 5 and 10 wt%) and remaining of MgO were developed by co-precipitation followed by thermal treatment. o-Chloroaniline and γ-butyrolactone were the main products with high yield of 85% and 90%, respectively. The advantage of the coupling process is that the hydrogenation reaction was conducted without external hydrogen, demonstrating minimize the hydrogen consumption known as hydrogen economy route. From N2O characterization results, the high activity of 5CoO-10Cu-MgO was found that it has high amount of Cu species (Cu0/Cu+1) which govern the stable activity and selectivity on time on stream study in presence of cobalt in Cu-MgO.
