Business intelligence is crucial for businesses, from start-ups to multinationals. Examining the role and efficacy of business intelligence (BI) technologies in gathering, processing, and evaluating data to assist responsible management practices and decision-making is crucial in the modern age, especially for educational institutions. This study investigates the impact of Business Intelligence (BI) tools on Knowledge Management (KM) stages and their subsequent influence on Responsible Business Practices Outcomes in the educational sector of the United Arab Emirates. Using a quantitative research design, the study collected data from 406 faculty and staff members across various UAE universities via a structured survey. It analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a significant positive relationship between the use of BI Tools and the implementation of KM Stages, indicating that the utilization of BI tools is instrumental in enhancing knowledge management processes. However, the direct effect of BI Tools’ usage on responsible business practices’ outcomes was insignificant, suggesting the need for a mediating factor. KM Stages Implementation emerged as a significant mediator, indicating that the benefits of BI tools on responsible business practices are realized through their influence on KM processes. Moderation analyses showed that Institutional Culture, Training, and Expertise significantly moderated the relationship between BI Tools Usage and KM stage implementation, while Support from Management did not have a significant moderating effect. These findings highlight the importance of fostering an enabling institutional culture and investing in training and expertise to leverage the full potential of BI tools in promoting responsible business practices in educational settings. The study contributes to the literature on technology adoption in education and provides practical implications for educational administrators and policymakers seeking to integrate BI tools into their institutional practices.
In the present and future of education, fostering complex thinking, especially in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is critical to lifelong learning. This study aimed to analyze learning scenarios within the framework of a model that promotes complex thinking and integrated design analysis, to identify the contributions of linking design models to the SDGs. The research question was: How does the open educational model of complex thinking link to the SDGs and scenario design? The analysis examined a pedagogical approach that introduced 33 participants to the instructional design of real-life or simulated situations to develop complex thinking skills. The categories of analysis were the model components, the SDGs, and scenario designs. The findings considered (a) innovative design capacity linked to SDG challenges, (b) linking theory and practice to foster complex thinking, and (c) the critical supporting tools for scenario design. The study intends to be of value to academic, social, and business communities interested in mobilizing complex thinking to support lifelong learning.
Background: The prevalence of anxiety among college students is a growing global concern, with a median prevalence of 32%. This study addresses the need for effective interventions within an educational policy framework to alleviate anxiety and promote mental health among college students. Objective: The study aims to evaluate the impact of breathing relaxation exercises and tactile art therapy on college students' self-understanding and psychological well-being, providing reference information for policies and practices in mental health education. Methods: We enrolled 10 college students from X University in South Korea, dividing them into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group underwent 10 sessions of breathing exercises and tactile art therapy, while the control group received standard psychological counseling. Pre- and post-tests assessed breathing function, self-understanding, and psychological well-being. Results: The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in breathing function, particularly in forced vital capacity (FVC), and in psychological well-being, as measured by the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS). Sub-factors such as safety, goal orientation, and self-acceptance within self-understanding, self-acceptance, positive relationships, purpose in life, and environmental mastery within psychological well-being, showed notable enhancements. In contrast, the control group did not show significant effects in terms of FVC and FEV1(p > 0.05), and there were no statistically significant differences in the various sub-factors of self-understanding and psychological well-being. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that integrating breathing relaxation exercises and tactile art therapy into educational policy can significantly reduce anxiety and enhance the psychological well-being of college students. These findings suggest that such interventions can be effective components of a comprehensive educational policy aimed at improving student mental health.
This study aims to analyze, investigate the implications, and identify differences in the progress of the effect of institutional changes and organizational transformation in Indonesian higher education. The structuration analysis shows that examining the conditions that have resulted in the replication and modification of social systems is the focus of the structuration analysis. The image of structuration theory conveys both a sense of regularity and continuity, as well as respect for the labor that must be done daily and the mundane but essential tasks that must be completed. The finding of this study is that with the mandate that universities have been given to implement the three primary pillars that support Indonesia’s higher education system, the difficulty level of the problem facing Indonesia’s higher education system has increased. We suggest a future research agenda and highlight the changes and transformations in power, interests, and alliances that affect the evolution of higher education institutions.
Under the background of economic globalization and the rapid development of science and technology, the development of higher education (HE) has undergone profound changes. Nowadays, in order to increase the international competitiveness, training international talents has become the primary task of universities and HE institutions. Therefore, taking Shenzhen as an example, the research takes quantitative method to study how the educational resources in the society affect the school from a macro perspective, and the micro perspective of students, teachers and schools, studying the impact on the development of universities. Through in-depth analysis of the integration of educational resources, the results show that multilingual library resource, and other three factors followed, are critical factors in the development of HE. And then, this study puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions after discussion, aiming to provide strategic insights to enhance the quality and international competitiveness of HE in the GBA, especially in the construction of multilingual library resources (MLR), international exchange platform (IEP), sufficient and diverse laboratory facilities (SDLF), and rich academic resources (RAR). Thus, the research narrows the gap in this field to some extent.
This research delves into sustainable educational management practices within Indonesian Islamic universities, aiming to shed light on the current trends, influential authors, co-authorship patterns, prevalent keywords, primary dissemination venues, gaps, and future research directions in this domain. Employing a bibliometric analysis methodology, data was collected using Lens.org software, encompassing publications from various academic databases to ensure a comprehensive exploration. The study reveals a growing interest in sustainability within Indonesian Islamic universities, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to promote sustainable development. Key findings include identifying influential authors, prevalent keywords, and primary dissemination venues, offering valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in the field. Moreover, gaps and future research directions are highlighted, paving the way for further exploration and enhancement of sustainable educational management practices in Indonesian Islamic universities.
