considering the rate of the currency channel, this study aims to analyze the effect of government foreign debt on labour demand in Indonesia. The Real Effective Exchange Rate (REER) is used to quantify the exchange rate, while estimates of the labour force participation rate characterize labour demand. this study expands upon the cobb-Douglass production function by including public debt as an integral element of the statistical model. The current study examines time series data from 1994 to 2022 and uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) for estimation. in conclusion, the results suggest that an increase in government external debt would result in a decline in labour demand, especially during economic shock associated with an expansion of the government deficit. Moreover, the Real Effective Exchange Rate has a beneficial long-term impact on labour demand. enhancing the purchasing power and stimulating investment through the appreciation of the domestic currency against foreign currencies will consequently increase economic productivity.
Despite the surge of publication of chatbots in the recent years in the field of education, we have little to know how this area has been researched so far, and the metrics of this type of research is still not known. To address such gap, this article offers a descriptive bibliometric study of chatbot research in education, aiming at presenting bibliometric analysis on articles on chatbots in education that were published in journals indexed in the Web of Science (WOS) database specifically Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) between 2016 and 2023. Descriptive bibliometric analysis was used to examine the data gathered from the chosen publications. including the annual number of articles and citations, the most productive author, countries with the highest publication output, productive affiliations, funding organizations, and publication sources. The bulk of the articles on chatbots in education, according to our dataset, were published between 2016 and 2023. The United States of America tops the list of countries regarding research productivity. The United Kingdom and China were ranked as most second and third productive countries, in terms of publication outputs. “Luke Kutszik Fryer emerged as the most productive author in this research domain in terms of the number of publications.” The University of Hong Kong had the highest number of publications among affiliations, indicating their significant contribution to the field. Additionally, the journal “Computers in Human Behavior” stood out with the highest number of publications per year, highlighting its relevance in publishing research on chatbots in education. This research offers valuable insights and a roadmap for prospective researchers, pinpointing critical areas where success can be attained in the study of chatbots in education.
This study critically examines the multifaceted dynamics of foreign employee integration within the Czech Republic, with a specific focus on the Mladá Boleslav region. Conducted prior to the Ukrainian crisis, this research serves as a crucial baseline for understanding integration in a pre-crisis context and provides comparative insights into the evolving challenges and opportunities amid the subsequent migration movements. The study explores various aspects of integration and inclusion, drawing upon migration theories, economic factors, and sociological perspectives to understand the motivators and challenges faced by foreigners, particularly in light of the majority society’s perception, which often leans towards skepticism and negativity. The research methodology builds on grounded theory and integrates both quantitative and qualitative approaches, utilizing surveys and semi-structured interviews to explore the experiences of foreign nationals, with an emphasis on immigrant women. A key finding of the study is the significant role of employers in facilitating integration. The paper discusses how businesses, through inclusive policies and practices, can profoundly influence the integration experience. Cooperation between employers, local integration centers, and other relevant organizations emerges as vital, providing additional resources and support systems to enhance the integration process. The study concludes by emphasizing the critical role of various stakeholders, particularly employers, in shaping sustainable human resources practices that foster a more inclusive and harmonious society.
Machine analysis of detection of the face is an active research topic in Human-Computer Interaction today. Most of the existing studies show that discovering the portion and scale of the face region is difficult due to significant illumination variation, noise and appearance variation in unconstrained scenarios. To overcome these problems, we present a method based on Extended Semi-Local Binary Patterns. For each frame, an aggregation of the pixel values over a neighborhood is considered and a local binary pattern is obtained. From these a binary code is obtained for each pixel and then histogram features is computed. Adaboost algorithm is used to learn and classify these discriminative features with the help of exemplar face and non-face signature of the images for detecting the location of face region in the frame. This Extended Semi Local Binary Pattern is sturdy to variations in illumination and noisy images. The developed methods are deployed on the real time YouTube video face databases and found to exhibit significant performance improvement owing to the novel features when compared to the existing techniques.
This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of non-disclosure of personal information among male individuals, employing the Communication Privacy Management Theory as a guiding framework. The objectives of the study encompass identifying the specific types of personal information male students refrain from disclosing, examining the underlying reasons for their non-disclosure practices, and assessing the impact of non-disclosure on their interpersonal relationships. Qualitative research methods, primarily in-depth interviews, were employed to gather insights, with six male students from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) participating in the interviews. The findings reveal that male students at UPSI do engage in non-disclosure of personal information, albeit to a certain extent. Specifically, the findings discovered four types of personal information—secrets, traumas, dark history, and family matters—that these students commonly choose not to disclose. Notably, there are four categories of personal information they tend to withhold, namely secrets, traumas, dark history, and family matters. The reluctance to disclose stems from factors such as insecure attachment, a reluctance to worry about their parents, and strained relationships with their family members. Furthermore, the study highlights that non-disclosure of personal information has both negative and positive repercussions on the participants’ relationships with others. Moreover, the study underscores that non-disclosure of personal information can have both negative and positive effects on the participants’ relationships, shedding light on the complexities of navigating personal privacy choices in the university and job-seeking context. The study contributes valuable insights into the challenges of employability dilemmas faced by male university students concerning the management of personal information.
Freshwater problems in coastal areas include the process of salt intrusion which occurs due to decreasing groundwater levels below sea level which can cause an increase in salt levels in groundwater so that the water cannot be used for water purposes, human consumption and agricultural needs. The main objective of this research is to implementation of RWH to fulfill clean water needs in tropical coastal area in Tanah Merah Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency, with the aim of providing clean water to coastal communities. The approach method used based on fuzzy logic (FL). The model input data includes the effective area of the house’s roof, annual rainfall, roof runoff coefficient, and water consumption based on the number of families. The BWS III Sumatera provided the rainfall data for this research, which was collected from the Keritang rainfall monitoring station during 2015 and 2021. The research findings show that FL based on household scale RWH technology is used to supply clean water in tropical coastal areas that the largest rainwater contribution for the 144 m2 house type for the number of residents in a house of four people with a tank capacity of 29 m2 is 99.45%.
