The concept of output-oriented education has been introduced for many years in our country and has been widely used in the process of personnel training in Chinese universities. This paper discusses how the concept of Outcome Based Education can be fully integrated into the process of developing talents in an interdisciplinary and collaborative manner in the context of new engineering. We have made useful explorations in various aspects from curriculum system integration, online teaching resources construction, studio-style course organization mode, rich teaching project library to school-enterprise cooperation project practice, etc., which have improved students' learning effect.
This work presents the results of the continuity of the research process carried out in the Energy Studies Center belonging to the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Matanzas, which involves the establishment of a dimensionless model to determine the average condensation heat transfer coefficient of Air Coleed Condenser (ACC) systems in straight and inclined tubes. The research consists in obtaining in an analytical way the solution of the differential equation of the velocity profile, considering that condensation is of pellicular type, finally the empirical condition of Roshenow is combined with the theoretical solution to generate a numerical expression that allows obtaining with a 15.2% of deviation in 2,192 tests, a value of the average coefficient of heat transfer by condensation very similar to the one obtained with the use of the most referenced model in the consulted literature, the empirical model of Chato.
This research investigates the safety status of water transport in Lake Towuti, South Sulawesi, employing the MICMAC and MACTOR methodologies to discern the factors that affect navigation safety and the interactions among the relevant stakeholders. The MICMAC analysis reveals that the effectiveness of sustainable transportation in Lake Towuti is significantly dependent on technical elements such as vessel certification, maintenance practices, and safety monitoring, alongside robust relationships among key entities like The South Sulawesi Class II Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD), The East Luwu District Transportation Office (Dishub), and the Timampu Port Service Unit (Satpel). When implementing the MICMAC-MACTOR model, it is essential to consider the technical implications of the proposed recommendations from the perspectives of social justice, environmental sustainability, and economic feasibility. The outcomes derived from the MICMAC and MACTOR assessments in Lake Towuti provide critical insights that can be utilized in other lakes across Indonesia, especially those that exhibit deficiencies in safety measures and adherence to inland water transport safety regulations.
This paper analyzes the impact of wage subsidies on lower-skilled formal workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It employs a multi-sectoral, empirically-calibrated general equilibrium model to capture the economy-wide transactions between the formal and informal sectors and assess policy simulations in the DRC. The simulations, both in the short and long run, indicate that when the government provides wage subsidies to lower-skilled workers, it significantly improves the real disposable incomes of both formal and informal households. There is a general increase across formal and informal sectors in real household disposable incomes due to the wage subsidy. The results show that subsidy allocation narrows the income gap between high and low-income households, as well as between formal and informal sectors. The findings are insightful for wage policy simulations, as the wage subsidy targeting lower-skilled formal workers increases real GDP from the expenditure side by 1.19% and 3.19% in the short and long run, respectively, from the baseline economy.
This financial modelling case study describes the development of the 3-statement financial model for a large-scale transportation infrastructure business dealing with truck (and some rail) modalities. The financial modelling challenges in this area, especially for large-scale transport infrastructure operators, lie in automatically linking the operating activity volumes with the investment volumes. The aim of the paper is to address these challenges: The proposed model has an innovative retirement/reinvestment schedule that automates the estimation of the investment needs for the Business based on the designated age-cohort matrix analysis and controlling for the maximum service ceiling for trucks as well as the possibility of truck retirements due to the reduced scope of tracking operations in the future. The investment schedule thus automated has a few calibrating parameters that help match it to the current stock of trucks/rolling stock in the fleet, making it to be a flexible tool in financial modelling for diverse transport infrastructure enterprises employing truck, bus and/or rail fleets for the carriage of bulk cargo quantifiable by weight (or fare-paying passengers) on a network of set, but modifiable, routes.
