Significance, Challenge and Opportunity of Volunteer Participating in Museum Education

This paper aims to explore the significance, challenges and opportunities of volunteer participation in museum education activities. First of all, the paper analyzes the significance of volunteer participation in museum education, including enriching educational resources, enhancing audience experience, promoting social participation, promoting cultural heritage, and promoting personal development. Secondly, the paper points out the challenges, including the average age of museum volunteers is relatively high, the uneven level of museum volunteers, the imperfect management system, the lack of volunteer training, the lack of incentive mechanism for volunteers, and the difficulty in evaluating the effectiveness of volunteer services. Then, it puts forward two development opportunities: the application of digital technology in volunteer management and the potential of interdisciplinary cooperation and innovation in volunteer training and development. Finally, some suggestions are put forward from the perspectives of raising awareness, optimizing process, establishing mechanism and strengthening cooperation.

Increased scientific research policies and the sustainable development of the education chain—Taking China as an example

This paper models 54,559 Chinese news items about education industry and scientific industry by machine learning during the COVID-19 epidemic to build China’s increased scientific research policy (ISRP) index. The result of interrupted time series analysis indicates that, the ISRP has an emphatic positive causality on the education industry advancement and promotes the development of the education industry. The ISRP also has a remarkable positive causality on the development of the scientific industry. Moreover, the result of causal network indicates that, a virtuous circle within the ISRP, the education industry and the scientific industry has been formed, which has promoted the sustainable development of the education chain.

A Study on Strategies for Bridging the Digital Gender Divide through Digital Literacy Education

Digital literacy refers to the collection of skills and abilities that individuals in the digital society should possess for learning, working, and daily life. These skills include digital awareness, computational thinking, digital learning and innovation, and digital social responsibility. Enhancing the digital literacy of citizens is a crucial step in improving individuals’ social adaptability and competitiveness, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of our society. However, the emergence of social inequality has given rise to a significant challenge known as the digital gender divide, hindering women’s full and effective participation in the digital domain and their comprehensive development. The digital gender divide, which is no longer an invisible issue in today’s society, encompasses issues such as unequal access to digital resources, distorted gender identity constructions, and the sense of insecurity that women often experience in digital spaces. These issues require focused attentions and solutions. This study uses real-life cases to explore the development of gender-inclusive perspectives in digital literacy education. The findings of the study hold the potential to foster gender equality in education by promoting inclusivity, increasing women’s participation, and fortifying digital security. By doing so, this approach will empower women for exceptional growth in the digital era, marking a substantial step towards a more equitable and secure digital society.

The importance of education and motivation in the training of HVAC&R professionals in Europe: Lessons from the Portuguese case

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry is pivotal to Europe’s goals for energy efficiency, sustainability, and technological advancement. As demand for skilled HVAC&R professionals rises, the effectiveness of educational programs in this field has become a focal point. This article explores the Portuguese case to analyze how pedagogical strategies and student motivation contribute to the quality of HVAC&R training across Europe. The study highlights innovative teaching methodologies such as active and competency-based learning, as well as the use of laboratory training and digital simulations to provide hands-on experience. Additionally, it emphasizes Bloom’s Taxonomy as a framework for curriculum development, ensuring that students advance from foundational knowledge to complex problem-solving abilities. Motivation is also identified as a critical factor for student engagement and long-term career commitment. The article concludes that a balanced integration of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and motivational support is essential for producing highly qualified HVAC&R professionals. This approach not only meets current industry needs but also aligns with Europe’s broader environmental and technological objectives, offering valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
