The scientific discourse on university towns (UT) has progressed for a long time, with a surge of interest in recent years. However, a global overview of the research conducted on this topic have yet to exist. This paper aims to re-examine the relationship between UT and urbanization in literature. Built environment and people are often the most talked aspects in UT literatures. The variety of definitions remains largely uncharted. Policies behind UT development are also rarely studied. This article used an R studio-based bibliometric literature review to synthesize findings from various scientific literature. Keywords related to university towns and urban were used in digital search engines to examine and analyse the literature. Results revealed a significant gap in scientific research on critical theoretical concepts that planners can use as a guide in creating, formulating, and evaluating UT, especially in developing countries. This study promotes simplification of existing literature by examining the impact of UT on the stakeholders involved.
Combining physical, social, and economic elements, urban planning plays a critical role in creating sustainable, resilient, and livable urban environments. It encompasses the regulation of land use, infrastructure, transportation systems, and environmental resources, with a focus on sustainable urban design and green infrastructure. While progress has been made, there are still areas that have not been fully explored, including the integration of renewable energy sources and the development of urban environments that are resilient to environmental stresses. This study aims to analyze the direction and scope of urban planning research and to identify research gaps in this area. The method used is bibliometrics by analyzing data obtained from the Scopus database in January 2024. The results of this study showed that Yufeng Zhang, a professor at Wuhan University, China, was the most productive author in producing publications, namely 22 documents. In addition, the article produced by Qianqian Zhou is also influential in this research topic because it gets a number of citations, as high as 204 citations. Additionally, the results indicate the current focus of research on sustainability, adaptation to climate change, and technology in urban planning. These findings can guide future research, direct policy, and ensure an interdisciplinary approach to modern urban and regional challenges.

In order to examine the works on Islamic banking and finance, bibliometric techniques were used, including analysis of citation network, content, co-citation, keyword, and publishing trends. By suggesting thirteen clusters, to enhance research on Islamic banking and finance to help interest-free investors learn more, the goal of the research is to promote the body of knowledge. The field of Islamic banking and finance has grown from a young lot to a prominent teaching and research tool. Investigating and identifying current research trends in this area is crucial. As institutions and society are placing more emphasis on Islamic banking to raise individual citizens’ responsibilities in developing interest-free investing strategies, the findings are crucial to the community of interest-free financiers. Further research urges with the studies not restricted to a thousand researches only.
