Regions rich in natural resources often exhibit a high dependency on revenue from Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH). This dependency can pose long-term challenges, especially when commodity prices experience significant fluctuations. This study examines the role of Revenue Sharing Funds from Natural Resources (DBH SDA) on economic growth in 491 regencies/cities in Indonesia during the 2010–2012 period. The analysis employs panel data regression. The selection of this period was based on the occurrence of a resource boom characterized by a surge in global demand for natural resource commodities, accompanied by an increase in commodity prices. This condition positively impacted the revenues of both the nation and resource-rich regions. The results of the study show that economic growth is not influenced by DBH SDA but rather by General Allocation Funds (DAU). This indicates that the central government still plays a significant role in determining economic growth at the regency/city level in Indonesia. Regions need to prioritize economic diversification to reduce reliance on DBH SDA and DAU. Investment in productive sectors, such as infrastructure, education, and technology, can be a strategic approach to accelerating regional economic growth.
The economic viability of a photovoltaic (PV) installation depends on regulations regarding administrative, technical and economic conditions associated with self-consumption and the sale of surplus production. Royal Decree (RD) 244/2019 is the Spanish legislation of reference for this case study, in which we analyse and compare PV installation offers by key suppliers. The proposals are not optimal in RD 244/2019 terms and appear not to fully contemplate power generation losses and seem to shift a representative percentage of consumption to the production period. In our case study of a residential dwelling, the best option corresponds to a 5 kWp installation with surplus sale to the market, with a payback period of 18 years and CO2 emission reductions of 1026 kg/year. Demand-side management offers a potential improvement of 6%–21.8%. Based on the increase in electricity prices since 2020, the best option offers savings of up to €1507.74 and amortization in 4.24 years. Considering costs and savings, sale to the market could be considered as the only feasible regulatory mechanism for managing surpluses, accompanied by measures to facilitate administrative procedures and guarantees for end users.
The objective of this research was to evaluate the unit rates of MSW generation in Cumba in the years 2016 and 2022. The calculations were based on the weights of the MSW disposed in the dump located 5 km from the city of Cumba since 2012. The GPC, physical composition, density, humidity were determined in the years 2016 and 2022, studied according to the methodology and group classification of Peruvian regulations. The results show that 5.45 Tn/day−1 are generated in 2016, 4.37 Tn/day−1 in 2022; according to its physical composition, 82% RO, 14% MICVC and 4% MISVC in 2016; 77% RO, 16% MICVC, 7% MISVC in 2022; density 137.90 kg/m−3 in 2016 and 172.69 kg/m−3 in 2022; humidity 67.67% in 2016 and 63.43% in 2022. It was also found that in 100.00% there is no solid waste treatment; Everything generated in homes, businesses and streets is evacuated to the final disposal site, which is a dump. In 2022, Cumba acquired 10 hectares to have adequate sanitary infrastructure and begin the closure and recovery of its current dump. This study will contribute to providing accurate data on MSW generation that allows the local government to promote the optimization of collection routes and schedules, resulting in cost savings and reduction of carbon emissions in the Amazon Region. Therefore, it is necessary to raise awareness at all levels of society through various means of communication and education, so that the risks of spreading health risks can be minimized by improving MSW management.
Service composition enables the integration of multiple services to create new functionalities, optimizing resource utilization and supporting diverse applications in critical domains such as safety-critical systems, telecommunications, and business operations. This paper addresses the challenges in comparing load-balancing algorithms within service composition environments and proposes a novel dynamic load-balancing algorithm designed specifically for these systems. The proposed algorithm aims to improve response times, enhance system efficiency, and optimize overall performance. Through a simulated service composition environment, the algorithm was validated, demonstrating its effectiveness in managing the computational load of a BMI calculator web service. This dynamic algorithm provides real-time monitoring of critical system parameters and supports system optimization. In future work, the algorithm will be refined and tested across a broader range of scenarios to further evaluate its scalability and adaptability. By bridging theoretical insights with practical applications, this research contributes to the advancement of dynamic load balancing in service composition, offering practical implications for high-tech system performance.
This research delves into the urgent requirement for innovative agricultural methodologies amid growing concerns over sustainable development and food security. By employing machine learning strategies, particularly focusing on non-parametric learning algorithms, we explore the assessment of soil suitability for agricultural use under conditions of drought stress. Through the detailed examination of varied datasets, which include parameters like soil toxicity, terrain characteristics, and quality scores, our study offers new insights into the complexities of predicting soil suitability for crops. Our findings underline the effectiveness of various machine learning models, with the decision tree approach standing out for its accuracy, despite the need for comprehensive data gathering. Moreover, the research emphasizes the promise of merging machine learning techniques with conventional practices in soil science, paving the way for novel contributions to agricultural studies and practical implementations.
The research aims to examine East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) bank service digitalization innovations and examine several implications of bank service digitalization innovations. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques: in-depth interviews, documentation, and focused discussions. The key informants in this research were the board of commissioners, directors, division heads, and NTT bank employees. The findings of this research are, first, the existence of an existing/generic model in the operational, supporting, and monitoring fields of NTT banks. Second, there is an innovation model for digitizing services and efforts to popularize the digitization of NTT bank services to the government-private sector, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), religious institutions, educational institutions, students and students as well as the broader community to provide easy access to sources of financing for the community, Eliminate regional tax leakage, encourage the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and assisted village farmers/breeders, provide entrepreneurial opportunities for the community, namely as a digital agent for NTT bank, minimize fraudulent behavior (shirking) in credit distribution. Third, service digitalization innovation uses a contextual sociolinguistic approach because it incorporates local and global vocabulary such as Bpung Mobile, Bpung Farmer, Lopo Dia Bisa, and Bpinjam. Fourth, service digitalization innovation refers to OJK regulations regarding banking digital transformation contained in RP 21 and PBI number 23/26/2021. Fifth, conventional services (hybrid approach) still accompany the digitalization innovation model. Sixth, Bank NTT is in quadrant III, namely growth. Bank NTT continuously optimizes existing resources by taking advantage of opportunities to increase business growth and continues to mitigate threats into opportunities and strengths. The implications of the innovation in digitizing NTT bank services include updating standard operating procedures (SOP), changing corporate culture from Flobamora to Bintang, and accelerating the increase in human capital capacity. The implications of research on bank management refer to the innovation of procurement of new IT systems. Banks can increase their attention to service quality and maintain customer trust to maintain the quality of digital banks among customers. Moreover, with post-COVID-19 conditions that require people to make digital transactions. With the changes in the financial industry towards digitalization, it is necessary to strengthen risk management in financial service institutions. The implications of the research results for policymakers need to be considered in the transformation towards digital banking related to equitable internet access in Indonesia, cybersecurity, and employment. Recommendations for future research are the importance of studying the determinants of digital service innovation in bank services, such as transformational leadership style, good corporate governance, and organizational commitment.
