In this paper, we deal with one of the most urgent and relevant topics nowadays, i.e., water pollution. The problem is finding a valid candidate for the absorption and removal of different kinds of pollutants commonly found in water. There are already some indications about graphene oxide as a potential candidate. In the present work, we take a step forward to show how graphene nanoplatelets (rather than the oxide form of this material) are capable of decontaminating water. In this starting step, we use a specific substance as a model pollutant, i.e., acetonitrile, leaving for the future steps, to extend the analysis to additional types of pollutants. In addition to laboratory-produced graphene nanoplatelets, we already examined in the past; now we wish to consider also commercially available ones, so that the new results will not be bound to a laboratory (low technology readiness level) material, but will become interesting also from the industrial point of view, thanks to the scalability of the nanoplatelets production. For this aim, we compare the performance of two types of filters based on two classes of nanomaterials, i.e., those produced by microwave and ultrasound assisted exfoliation, already analyzed in our earlier works, with those commercially distributed by an Italian company, i.e., NANESA, http://www.nanesa.com/. The latter is an innovative SME involved in the production of graphene-based nanomaterials. We focus here in the graphene nanoplatelets, commercially available in industrial batches (GXNan grades). The present study leads to determine which filtering membrane, among the various types of commercial graphene considered, shows the greatest stability, and the lack of breakage of the membrane, concentrating on such accessory features, given that all types of graphene showed excellent adsorption properties.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth of four lettuce cultivars in Southern Piauí to recommend the best ones for the region. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse with randomized blocks, with evaluation in subdivided time plots, evaluated in six seasons (20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40 days after sowing—DAS) and with treatments corresponding to four cultivars (Americana Rafaela®, Grand Rapids TBR®, Crespa Repolhuda® and Repolhuda Todo ano®) with five repetitions. Leaf area, number of leaves, collar diameter, aboveground fresh mass, aboveground dry mass, root dry mass and total and the physiological indices of growth analysis were evaluated. The lettuce cultivars interfered significantly in the studied parameters, being that Americana Rafaela® and Repolhuda todo ano®, in the conditions that they were submitted, presented better performances and bigger morphophysiological indexes, cultivated in pot. The cultivars Americana Rafaela® and Repolhuda todo ano® can be produced under the conditions of the south of Piauí.
The problem of the synthesis of new type nanomaterials in the form of nano-coatings with sub-nanometric heterogeneity has been formulated. It has been presented an analysis of influences of physical vapor deposition in ultrahigh vacuum on the process of intermixing a film with a substrate, including the results, which has been obtained under the formation of transition metal – silicon interface. The generalization of the obtained experimental results develops an approach to the development of new nano-coatings with low-dimensional heterogeneity. The principles of constructing such low-dimensional nano-coatings, their properties and possible applications are considered.
This study was conducted to evaluate job satisfaction and problems encountered by sales consultants at ADESE shopping stores in Konya Province. The sample size was determined to be 189 participants, utilizing a non-clustered simple random sampling method by the main population rates. The research analyzed several key factors, including the demographic characteristics of the sales consultants, internal communication, teamwork and satisfaction within the unit, social and physical work environments, management style, decision-making processes, employee participation, rewards and motivation, relationships with managers, general job satisfaction, and perceptions of job-related problems. To analyze the factors affecting job satisfaction among the sales consultants, logistic regression analysis was employed. The results indicated that improvements in internal communication, social work environment, relationships with managers, management style, decision-making, and perceptions of participation had a positive influence on job satisfaction, whereas an increase in job-related problems was found to negatively impact job satisfaction.
