The study employed a qualitative approach to determine the influence and effectiveness of storytelling in shaping the Alpha generation’s buying decisions and consumption behaviours. The students of the University of Lagos Junior Secondary School were selected for the study. The interview questions were set to focus on factors like experiences, sources of storytelling communication, the outcomes and the affective effects. Twenty-five students were purposively selected out of one hundred and twelve (112) population for the interview based on the conditions for selection. Thematic analysis was used and a total of 244 themes were identified. Four (4) major themes were later identified in thematic synthesis through coding translation. The findings revealed that storytelling is effective and strategic in brands targeted at the Alpha generation, hence, the generation relied on storytelling to choose brands in convenience, impulsive and shopping products, and radio and television were the main sources of storytelling campaigns among the generation. Storytelling wrapped in songs, entertainment, dancing, drama, etc. captivated and influenced the generation, and children used the information from the storytelling campaigns to influence family purchase decisions and parents’ buying decisions and behaviours.
"Where is the fog" is a reading text in the seventh unit of the second grade of primary school Chinese in the unified edition. The humanistic theme of this unit is "the beauty of imagination", and the language element is to develop imagination and obtain a preliminary emotional experience. "Where is the Fog" is an interesting fairy tale. The language of the text is lively and full of childlike innocence, which fits the age characteristics of children in lower grades. According to the characteristics of the text and the characteristics of the students, in the teaching, through the creation of life situations, combined with the students' actuality, and the way of writing paragraphs, the students are guided to read the naughty "fog", taste the charm of the language, and lead the students to enter the colorful imaginary world.
In response to the challenges of climate change, this study explores the use of moringa pod powder as reinforcement in the manufacture of compressed earth bricks to promote sustainable building materials. The objective is to evaluate the impact of African locust bean pod powder on the mechanical properties of the bricks. Two types of soils from Togo were characterized according to geotechnical standards. Mixtures containing 8% African locust bean pod powder at various particle sizes (0.08 mm, 2 mm, and between 2 and 5 mm) were formulated and tested for compression and tensile strength. The results show that the addition of African locust bean pod reduces the mechanical strength of the bricks compared to the control sample without pods, with strengths ranging from 0.697 to 0.767 MPa, compared to 0.967 to 1.060 MPa for the control. However, the best performances for the mixtures were obtained with a fineness of less than 2 mm. This decrease in performance is attributed to several factors, including inadequate water content and suboptimal preparation and compaction methods. Optimizing formulation parameters is necessary to maximize the effectiveness of African locust bean pods. This work highlights the valorization of agro-industrial waste, paving the way for a better understanding of bio-based materials and future research for sustainable construction.
In this study, we consider the extended Brinkman's-Darcy model for a triple diffusive convection system which consists of some parameters such as Taylor number (Ta), Solutal Rayleigh numbers (RC1 , RC2 ), and Prandtl number (Pr). To investigate the range of these parameters, a dynamical system of the Ginzburg-Landau equation is developed. The parametric analysis and comparative study of the model for the three Rayleigh numbers which leads to the clear fluid layer, sparsely packed porous layer, and densely packed porous layer is done with the help of bifurcation maps and the Lyapunov exponents. It is found that for a certain range of parameters, the system exhibits a chaotic behaviour.
This study explores project-based learning in science teaching models. Firstly, the theoretical basis of project-based learning is analyzed, the existing science teaching mode is evaluated, and the construction and implementation strategy of the science teaching mode based on project-based learning is proposed. Then, through empirical research, this study found that this model can effectively improve students' academic performance, enhance students' interest in learning, and improve students' hands-on ability. However, the implementation of this model requires teachers to have a high level of professionalism and adequate teaching resources. Finally, this study concludes that the project-based learning science teaching model is a potential teaching model that deserves further exploration and practice.
Under the developing trend of artificial intelligence (AI) technology gradually penetrating all aspects of society, the traditional language education industry is also greatly affected [1]. AI technology has had a positive impact on college English teaching, but it also presents challenges and negative impacts. On the positive side, AI technology can provide personalized learning experiences, real-time feedback, and autonomous learning opportunities, and so on. However, it may also lead to a lack of communication between students and humans, resulting in a decline in students’ interpersonal skills, and cause students’ dependence on online learning resources as well as possible risks to student data privacy and security, and other negative impacts. To address these challenges, teachers can adopt the following countermeasures: improving teachers’ skills in the use of AI technology incorporated in the classroom, offering personalized instruction to reduce students’ dependence on AI technologies, emphasizing the cultivation of students’ humanistic literacy and interpersonal communication ability. Additionally, colleges and technology providers should strengthen data security and privacy protection to ensure the safety and confidentiality of student data. By implementing comprehensive measures, we can maximize the advantages of AI technology in college English teaching while overcoming potential issues and challenges.
