Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are intentionally designed to be easily accessible to many learners, regardless of their academic level or age. MOOCs leverage internet-based technology, allowing anybody with an internet connection to have unrestricted access, regardless of their location or time limitations. MOOCs provide a versatile and easy opportunity for acquiring top-notch education, enabling anyone to learn at their preferred speed, free from limitations of time, cost, or geographical location. Given the advantages they offer, MOOCs are a valuable method for improving the quality and availability of education in Indonesia. Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, colleges and institutions have implemented the establishment of digital campuses. One important characteristic of these digital campuses is that they prioritize processes but overlook data and lack standardized standards. The problems and fundamental causes include challenges related to the comprehensive information architecture. The main factor contributing to this challenge is the absence of uniform and well-defined information standards. The existing connectivity and data exchange mechanisms in several schools are poor, leading to substantial data discrepancy among various departments due to the limited content of the fundamental data utilized. Moreover, the absence of clear information about the reliable source of data exacerbates the problem. The main objectives of data governance are to improve data quality, eliminate data inconsistencies, promote extensive data sharing, utilize data aggregation for competitive benefits, supervise data modifications based on data usage patterns, and comply with internal and external regulations and agreed-upon data usage standards. The aim of this project is to create a data governance framework that is customized to the specific conditions in Indonesia, with a specific emphasis on MOOC providers. The researcher chose design science research (DSR) as the research paradigm as it can successfully tackle relevant issues linked to the topic by creating innovative artefacts about the data governance framework for MOOC providers in Indonesia. This research highlights the necessity and significance of implementing a data governance framework for MOOC providers in Indonesia, hence increasing their awareness of this requirement. The researchers incorporated components from the data management body of knowledge (DMBOK) into their data governance framework. This framework includes ten components related to data governance, which are further divided into sub-components within the MOOC providers’ framework.
In response to the prevailing energy crisis, this research focuses on elevating the potential of lithium niobate (LN) thin films for advanced optoelectronic applications. Employing electron beam evaporation, films undergo precise annealing (700°C to 1100°C), revealing a structural evolution through X-ray diffraction—crystallite sizes transition from 69.34 nm (unannealed) to 47.90 nm (1100°C). Scanning electron microscopy captures the transformation from coarse grains to photonic crystal clusters, while energy dispersion X-ray analysis discloses LN's composition (97.27 wt.% oxygen, 2.73 wt.% niobium). Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy illustrates surface damage post-Helium ion implantation, proportionate to depth. UV-VIS spectrophotometry highlights a significant blue shift in the optical band gap (3.70 eV to 2.52 eV), with further reduction at 700°C (2.48 eV) and a climactic shift at 1100°C (2.68 eV). This study not only addresses the pressing energy crisis but also emphasizes the indispensable role of lithium niobate in shaping the future of optoelectronics. It provides insights into tailoring LN properties for sustainable advancements in optoelectronic devices, marking a crucial chapter in our collective journey towards energy resilience. This study uses dynamic capability theory and a resource-based view to examine whether intellectual capital (human, relational, and structural capital) mediates entrepreneurial leadership and innovation success. Drawing on data from 422 senior-level employees working in Peruvian I.T. companies, the proposed relationships were analyzed using SmartPLS 4. Entrepreneurial leadership was found to foster employees’ innovative performance through the mediating role of human capital, relational capital, and structural capital. Practically, businesses often rely on innovation for survival and growth, so they should consider entrepreneurial leadership to create intellectual capital (human capital, relational capital and structural capital) for innovation performance. Businesses should provide entrepreneurial training that emphasizes role modeling intellectual capital and encourages employees to recognize and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. With significantly limited research, the study contributes by investigating the interrelationship of entrepreneurial leadership, intellectual capital, and innovation performance. The study contributes to the Resource Based View and Dynamic Capability Theory by demonstrating how entrepreneurial leadership contributes to innovation performance through human capital, relational capital, and structural capital.
This paper aims to explain the administrative and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) of the Indonesian Spaceport Project in Biak, Papua, Indonesia, under the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) scheme, particularly from the protest to fear of environmental damage and traditional rights. This paper analyzes the factors that cause the local society’s reluctance to accept the development of Indonesia’s very first commercial spaceport. This paper uses a doctrinal methodology, which examines changes in the trend of ESG in implementing PPP projects. The method used is a qualitative systematic review of national and international studies. This paper finds that the lack of legal certainty for administrative and ESG as the main factor contributing to the pitfall of the PPP project in Biak Papua. No clear Government Contracting Agency (GCA), plus the fact that the Indonesian government puts too much weight on business consideration in PPP while Papuan people need more ESG, especially considering the historical conflict in the region, has been the epicenter of the problem. Given the ESG-PPP regulatory failure of spaceport development in Biak, more focused studies using comparative study methodology are needed to propose a more robust and customized ESG in PPP regulations in a politically and historically sensitive area. The authors forward a regulatory reform to balance administration, ESG, and business considerations in PPP projects for a spaceport.
This paper provides a comprehensive review of equity trading simulators, focusing on their performance in assuring pre-trade compliance and portfolio investment management. A systematic search was conducted that covered the period of January 2000 to May 2023 and used keywords related to equity trade simulators, portfolio management, pre-trade compliance, online trading, and artificial intelligence. Studies demonstrating the use of simulators and online platforms specific to portfolio investment management, written in English, and matching the specified query were included. Abstracts, commentaries, editorials, and studies unrelated to finance and investments were excluded. The data extraction process included data related to challenges in modern portfolio trading, online stock trading strategies, the utilization of deep learning, the features of equity trade simulators, and examples of equity trade simulators. A total of 32 studies were included in the systematic review and were approved for qualitative analysis. The challenges identified for portfolio trading included the subjective nature of the inputs, variations in the return distributions, the complexity of blending different investments, considerations of liquidity, trading illiquid securities, optimal portfolio execution, clustering and classification, the handling of special trading days, the real-time pricing of derivatives, and transaction cost models (TCMs). Portfolio optimization techniques have evolved to maximize portfolio returns and minimize risk through optimal asset allocation. Equity trade simulators have become vital tools for portfolio managers, enabling them to assess investment strategies, ensure pre-trade compliance, and mitigate risks. Through simulations, portfolio managers can test investment scenarios, identify potential hazards, and improve their decision-making process.
This study examined the factors influencing online purchases among consumers in Bangladesh, employing a modified version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Data from 353 individuals in Bangladesh revealed that perceived ease of use, social influence, security, convenience, trust, emotional experience, and functional experience significantly positively affect the intention to purchase online. Additionally, results show that the intention to purchase online significantly positively affects actual online purchases. Findings further highlighted that intention to make online purchases mediated the influence of perceived ease of use, social influence, security, convenience, trust, emotional experience, and functional experience over online purchases. The study provides significant practical recommendations to help businesses and consumers support online purchasing with diverse advantages.
