The development of economic globalization makes the culture show a diversified development trend, and the traditional mode of teaching English in colleges and universities can hardly adapt to the development needs of the times. Therefore, there is an urgent need to re_x005fform and innovate the concept, teaching mode, teaching methods and content of English teaching in colleges and universities. In the process of teaching, there is a close connection between culture and English teaching. Exploring the reform of English teaching mode in colleges and universities under the perspective of multiculturalism can help to improve the quality of teaching and activate students’ learning motivation. On this basis, this paper firstly analyzes the necessity of English teaching innovation in colleges and universities under the multicultural perspective. Secondly, it focuses on analyzing how to innovate the teaching mode of English education in colleges and universities under the perspective of multiculturalism.

The aim of this study is to visually illustrate the current state of research on reconstructing belief space in Confucian Gardens and analyze the key areas for future investigation. The knowledge graph, which consists of 591 academic papers on the belief space of Confucian Gardens published on Web of Science from database inception until August 2023, has been analyzed using Cite-Space software. After conducting a thorough analysis of co-citation, co-occurrence, clustering, timeline, and burst maps, the identification of three promising avenues for future research has been achieved successfully. We anticipate that advanced research in the coming years will concentrate on three areas: “reconstructing urban belief space, enhancing spatial experiences, and exploring embodied cognition”.

This paper addresses the misalignment of junior high English teaching materials in China, with reference to the 2022 English Cur_x005friculum Standards. Using discourse analysis, it evaluates the “Go for it!” textbook, suggesting a shift to holistic unit-based teaching and activity-based learning. Proposed adaptations include integrating Western and Chinese educational methods and enhancing critical thinking and cultural awareness. The study underscores the need for materials that foster language skills, cultural understanding, and critical competencies, realigning them with contemporary educational philosophies.

Cultivating international talents with global competence meets the need of time. Although domestic scholars have paid much attention to the study of global competence training for Chinese students, they lack a systematic understanding of its conceptual development and its training practices. Therefore, this paper systematically overviews the development of global competence and relative programs launched by foreign universities. At the same time, it provides practical insights into the introduction of training programs and assessment frameworks in China from multiple perspectives.
