This article is devoted to studying the principles of the relationship between democracy and demoethics as tools for transforming the sustainable development of society. The study is based on the assumption that the effective functioning of democracy is associated with such social phenomena as elections and electoral behavior. The study examined electoral behavior and surveyed members of society about the qualities of candidates to which they pay special attention. An analysis of qualitative and quantitative data demonstrating the democratic foundations of elections of members of society was conducted, and an analysis of the choice of voters in the extraordinary elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan by region was conducted. In this study, Bayesian network modeling is experimentally applied to formalize the problem of identifying and analyzing the behavior of virtuous personality traits. A sociological survey of public opinion was conducted using the questionnaire method with the participation of 826 people from all regions of Kazakhstan from May to June 2023. A questionnaire was used to collect data, the main purpose of which was to compare attitudes and find out what values are considered important for people, what norms of behavior are considered acceptable, and to understand what values and norms prevail in society. It is concluded that the concept of demoethics promotes a positive transformation of humanity and helps to form a new leader of virtue, a ruler of the city, capable of making ethical rational decisions that can ensure a balance between the economic, social, and environmental needs of humanity.
Beach protection is vital to reduce the damage to shorelines and coastal areas; one of the artificial protections that can be utilized is the tetrapod. However, much damage occurred when using a traditional tetrapod due to the lack of stability coefficient (KD). Therefore, this research aims to increase the stability coefficient by providing minor modifications to the cape of the tetrapod, such as round-caped or cube-caped. The modification seeks to hold the drag force from the wave and offer a good interlocking in between the tetrapod. This research applied physical model test research using a breakwater model made from the proposed innovative tetrapod with numerous variations in dimensions and layers simulated with several scenarios. The analysis was carried out by graphing the relationship between the parameters of the measurement results and the relationship between dimensionless parameters, such as wave steepness H/gT2, and other essential parameters, such as the KD stability number and the level of damage in %. The result shows that the modified and innovative tetrapod has a more excellent KD value than the conventional tetrapod. In addition, the innovative tetrapod with the cube-shaped has a recommended KD value greater than the round shape. This means that for the modified tetrapod structure and the same level of security, the required weight of the tetrapod with the cube cap will be lighter than the tetrapod with the round cap. These findings have significant practical implications for coastal protection and engineering, potentially leading to more efficient and cost-effective solutions.

The research is motivated by the need to address the growing concerns about the reliability and sustainability of the information ecosystem in the face of AI-driven changes. Through a comprehensive analysis of the current AI landscape, including a review of existing literature and case studies, the study diagnoses the social implications of AI-driven changes in information ecosystems. The findings reveal a complex interplay between technological innovation and social responsibility, highlighting the need for collaborative governance strategies to navigate the tensions between the benefits and risks of AI. The study contributes to the growing discourse on AI governance by proposing a multi-stakeholder framework that emphasizes the importance of inclusive participation, transparency, and accountability in shaping the future of information. The research offers actionable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society organizations seeking to foster a trustworthy and inclusive information environment in the era of AI, while harnessing the potential of AI-driven innovations for sustainable development.
The existing ample literature studied the factors for adopting computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs) by internal and external auditors, frequently ignoring their impact on the quality of audits and companies’ efficiency. This study delivers new evidence on the kinds of CAATs utilized by internal auditors, examines their adoption impact on corporate sustainability, and studies the moderating impact of company characteristics. This study used data from internal auditors in Ethiopia gathered using a survey, and the study hypotheses were tested using the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The study found a moderate utilization of CAATs by internal auditors in executing their activities. The result also revealed a highly positive impact of internal auditors’ CAAT utilization on fraud discovery in the acquisition process. The study found that the intensity of this relationship is impacted by the companies’ characteristics of management commitment. However, the size and type of the company are not impacting it. This study finding complements prior studies and helps practitioners make decisions that can improve CAAT utilization in internal audit functions for a high level of companies’ sustainability.
This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of the aquaculture industry across 11 coastal regions in eastern China from 2017 to 2021 to assess their adaptability and resilience in the face of climate change. Cluster analysis was employed to examine regional variations in aquaculture adaptation by analyzing data on annual average temperatures, annual extreme high/low temperatures, annual average relative humidity, annual sunshine duration, and total yearly precipitation alongside various aquaculture practices. The findings reveal that southern regions, such as Fujian and Guangdong, demonstrate higher adaptability and resilience due to their stable subtropical climates and advanced aquaculture technologies. In contrast, northern regions like Liaoning and Shandong, characterized by more significant climatic fluctuations, exhibit varying degrees of cluster changes, indicating a continuous need to adjust aquaculture strategies to cope with climatic challenges. Additionally, the study explores the specific impacts of climate change on species selection, disease management, and water resource utilization in aquaculture, emphasizing the importance of developing region-specific strategies. Based on these insights, several strategic recommendations are proposed, including promoting species diversification, enhancing disease monitoring and control, improving water quality management techniques, and urging governmental support for policies and technical guidance to enhance the climate resilience and sustainability of the aquaculture sector. These strategies and recommendations aim to assist the aquaculture industry in addressing future climate challenges and fostering long-term sustainable development.
The aim of this study is to determine how bank diversification affects bank stability. To this end, it examines data of 136 commercial banks operating in 14 MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries observed from 2005 to 2021, using the System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) panel data regression analysis. The selected countries are Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Iran, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. The main results point to the enhancing effect of income diversification on bank stability. Our results underline the “Bright Side” of banking income diversification in the MENA region. However, this stabilizing income diversification effect is not always maintainable. The results also point to a non-linear relationship between interest/non-interest income and financial stability, suggesting that higher diversification reduces risk. We use a dynamic panel threshold model to determine income diversification thresholds that stabilize banks in the MENA region.
