Business ethics plays a crucial role in developing modern business and the entire society. Thus, to develop the conceptual framework of business ethics, it is extremely interesting to study the concepts connected with it. The article identifies the main terms and concepts associated with business ethics. On this basis, the authors’ conceptual framework of business ethics was created. Within this conceptual framework, it is shown that each business unit builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders within two “circles of business ethics”: the inner circle of business ethics and the outer circle of business ethics. The article proves the hypothesis that business ethics should be considered in the context of relationships with all stakeholders, i.e., it is the ethics of business relationships with partners and competitors in the external environment, as well as within the internal environment (primarily with employees). The article will be of interest to specialists in the field of management, and corporate governance, as well as for anyone interested in the problems of corporate social management.
Climate change is one of the most critical global challenges, driven primarily by the rapid increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. Carbon sequestration, the process by which ecosystems capture and store carbon, plays a key role in mitigating climate change. This study investigates the factors influencing carbon sequestration in subtropical planted forest ecosystems. Field data were collected from 100 randomly sampled plots of varying sizes (20 m² × 20 m² for trees, 5 m² × 5 m² for shrubs, and 1 m² × 1 m² for herbs) between February and April 2022. A total of 3,440 plants representing 36 species were recorded, with Prosopis juliflora and Prosopis cineraria as the dominant tree species and Desmostachya bipinnata as the dominant herb. Regression analysis, Pearson correlation, and structural equation modeling were performed using R software to explore relationships between carbon sequestration and various biotic and abiotic factors. Biotic factors such as diameter at breast height (DBH; R=0.94), tree height (R=0.83), and crown area (R=0.98) showed strong positive correlations with carbon sequestration. Abiotic factors like litter (R=0.37), humus depth (R=0.43), and electrical conductivity (E.C; R=0.11) also positively influenced carbon storage. Conversely, pH (R=-0.058), total dissolved solids (TDS; R=-0.067), organic matter (R=-0.1), and nitrogen (R=-0.096) negatively impacted carbon sequestration. The findings highlight that both biotic and abiotic factors significantly influence carbon sequestration in planted forests. To enhance carbon storage and mitigate climate change, efforts such as afforestation, reforestation, and conservation of subtropical forest ecosystems are essential.
Based on the application of phase diagram calculation technique (CALPHAD), the Fe-Nd-B magnetic materials were investigated, and alloy design and microstructure evolution concerning. According to the thermodynamic database of Fe-Nd-B ternary system, the equilibrium solidification process of Fe78Nd15B7 alloy is simulated, and we explained well the reason of this experimental phenomenon by the metastable extension of the equilibrium phase diagram.
The St. Peter Sandstone of the American Midwest is presented today in textbooks as a simple and unproblematic example of “layer-cake geology.” The thesis of this paper is that the very simplicity of St. Peter Sandstone has made it challenging to characterize. In widely separated states, the sandstone appeared under different names. Several theories about how it formed began to circulate. The story of the St. Peter is not only the story of the assemblage of a stratigraphic unit over a vast area during three centuries, but also the role the study of the provenance of this unit played in the development of sedimentology in the early twentieth century, research that was made all the more challenging by its “simple” mineralogy. Indeed, the St. Peter has been controversial since it was first described.
Introduction: Given the heterogeneous nature and inherent complexity of forensic medical expertise, the expert (medical professional or related areas) must make the best use of the technical and technological tools at his disposal. Imaging, referring to the set of techniques that allow obtaining images of the human body for clinical or scientific purposes, in any of its techniques, is a powerful support tool for establishing facts or technical evidence in the legal field. Objective: To analyze the use of magnetic resonance and computed tomography in postmortem diagnosis. Methodology: information was searched in the databases PubMed, Science Direct, Springer Journal and in the search engine Google Scholar, using the terms “X-Ray Computed Tomography”, “Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy”, “Autopsy” and “Forensic Medicine” published in the period 2008–2015. Results: MRI is useful for the detailed study of soft tissues and organs, while computed tomography allows the identification of fractures, calcifications, implants and trauma. Conclusions: In the reports found in the literature search, regarding the use of nuclear magnetic resonance and computed tomography in postmortem cases, named by the genesis of the trauma, correlation was found between the use of imaging and the correct expert diagnosis at autopsy.
