Incest is one of the most serious forms of sexual abuse that occurs between a father and his daughter. It involves a parent committing something forbidden to their own child, which violates moral standards. This incestuous relationship has a significant impact on the survivors’ psychology, body, and emotions, affecting all aspects of their lives. This study explores the long-term effects experienced by individuals in Malaysia who have survived father-daughter incest (FDI). This study conducted in-depth interviews with 11 key persons from several agencies involved in handling FDI cases in Malaysia. The findings reveal that those who experienced FDI frequently suffered long-term issues. It is important for everyone involved in assisting these individuals. This is aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3, which emphasises the value of good health and well-being for all. It also aligns with Malaysia’s MADANI concept, which emphasises protecting and promoting everyone’s human rights. FDI survivors can receive the protection and assistance they require to live healthier and more successful lives by implementing an effective strategy that includes mental health support, powerful laws, and community education.
This paper contributes to the understanding of how flexibility in the number of members in a decision-making committee in a multistage project can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the decisions taken. While most projects typically employ a fixed number of decision makers, the paper demonstrates the advantages of adjusting the committee size according to the project’s varying complexity at different phases of the project. In particular, we show that allowing for flexibility in the size of a committee increases the likelihood of reaching a correct decision under the unanimity rule. We analyze this issue when the decision maker’s competence is independent of the state of nature and when it is not. The results are compared to those under the simple majority rule.
Freeze-thawing plays a vital role in enhancing materials in medicines. Here, we describe the F-T process of synthesis of Poly (vinyl alcol)- Methylene blue single strand- Mxene (PVA–MB-ssDNA –Mxene), which may be effective for gen delivery applications. The PVA –MB-ssDNA –Mxene hydrogel was formed using 1,3,5 consecutive cycles. We also demonstrated that PVA –MB-ssDNA –Mxene hydrogel can be formed by the affection of DNA with PVA and the MXene network. The F-T process shows the new intra molecular bond of PVA-PVA, compared to the non F-T hydrogel which formed by a biologic crosslinking as MB-ssDNA. Scanning electron microscopy reported that the microstructure. The differential scan shows three endothermic peaks at 70, 180, and 300 ℃ for water loss and decomposition. The swelling behavior rapidly increased due to the PVA chains in the F-T methods and then became stable. With a high concentration of MB-DNA, the tensile strength was slightly high, and the swelling behavior was low. Our results indicated that the PVA –MB-ssDNA –Mxene hydrogel using F-T process would have more suitable structural features as gene hydrogel carrier which need greater mechanical strength and stability in body analyses.
Based on the resource-based view and institutional theory, this study investigates the impact of their environmental management capabilities and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) pressure on the non-financial performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In particular, it examines the interaction effect of ESG pressures on the relationship between SMEs’ environmental management capabilities and non-financial performance. For this study, a total of 1865 SME lists were obtained through Jeonnam Techno Park and Jeonnam Small Business Job and Economy Promotion Agency. Based on this, a total of 127 questionnaires were returned as a result of a telephone, e-mail, and online survey, and finally, an empirical analysis was conducted based on 120 questionnaires. We conducted an empirical analysis of Korean SMEs and obtained the following results: First, environmental management capabilities have a significant, positive effect on SMEs’ non-financial performance. Second, ESG pressure has a significant, negative effect on the non-financial performance of SMEs. Next, we analyzed the moderating effect of ESG pressures and observed that ESG pressures strengthen the positive effect of environmental management capabilities on non-financial performance. Based on the resource-based perspective and institutional theory, this study provides meaningful academic implications by examining environmental management capabilities and ESG pressures, which have not been identified in previous studies, as factors of non-financial performance that are becoming important under the new management paradigm, such as climate change and ESG. Furthermore, while ESG pressure has a significant negative effect on non-financial performance, we find that it is a moderating variable that strengthens the relationship between SMEs’ environmental management capabilities and non-financial performance, which has useful academic and practical implications for ESG and strategic management.
In order to explore how hygiene factors and motivational factors indirectly affect job satisfaction through teacher self-efficacy. Based on the two factor theory and Teacher Job Satisfaction Survey (TJS), this study analyzes how hygiene factors and motivational factors indirectly affect job satisfaction through teacher self-efficacy. The study collects valid questionnaires from 120 teachers and conducts mediation analysis using structural equation modeling. From the results, teacher self-efficacy had obvious mediating effects between hygiene factors and job satisfaction (β > 0.6, P < 0.001), as well as between motivational factors and job satisfaction (β > 0.6, P < 0.001). This discovery not only provides new perspectives and strategies for improving teacher job satisfaction, but also emphasizes the importance of enhancing teacher self-efficacy in improving job satisfaction. In addition, the study provides strong empirical evidence for education management departments and school leaders to formulate more effective teacher development policies and management measures, which has positive theoretical and practical significance for improving education quality and promoting education reform.
Vision statements are seen as important factors that come before the development of strategies. They excel at encapsulating the strategic direction of a company, clearly defining its scope, boundaries, and the process of creating value. Vision statements function as comprehensive frameworks that guide the development of several strategic elements, including mission, strategic capabilities, strategic intent, objectives, goals, core values, standards of behavior, and business models. However, research on this subject remains scanty, particularly within academia. Therefore, this study examined the impact of university vision on staff effectiveness, building on transformational leadership theory and strategic leadership theory. The study adopted a positivist research philosophy. The research employed a cross-sectional study design. This study employed a descriptive research design. Questionnaires were devised by the researcher to collect data from a randomly selected group of 186 academic personnel from the four colleges in a private university using stratified sampling. The data obtained was subject to validity checks using composite reliability, the average variance extracted (AVE) estimate, and the Cronbach Alpha coefficient. The findings reveal that the vision of the university had a significant but weak impact on the effectiveness of staff. Based on the findings and conclusions, the study suggests that the university’s organizational vision should be consistently improved and effectively conveyed to staff members to direct their efforts toward achieving the university’s vision.
