This case study employs the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) theory as a conceptual framework, utilizing semi-structured interviews combined with focus group discussions to uncover the driving forces influencing rural revitalization and sustainable development within communities. ABCD is considered a transformative approach that emphasizes achieving sustainable development by mobilizing existing resources within the community. Conducted against the backdrop of rural revitalization in China, the study conducts on-site investigations in Yucun, Zhejiang Province. Through the analysis of Yucun’s community development and asset utilization practices, the study reveals successful experiences in various aspects, including community construction, industrial development, cultural heritage preservation, ecological conservation, organizational management, and open economic thinking. The results indicate that Yucun’s sustainable development benefits from its unique resources, leveraging policy advantages, collective financial organizations, and open economic thinking, among other factors. These elements collectively drive rural revitalization in Yucun, leading to sustainable development.
This study investigates the relationship between hydrological processes, watershed management, and road infrastructure resilience, focusing on the impact of flooding on roads intersecting with streams in River Nile State, Sudan. Situated between 16.5° N to 18.5° N latitude and 33° E to 34° E longitude, this region faces significant flooding challenges that threaten its ecological and economic stability. Using precise Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) and advanced hydrological modeling, the research aims to identify optimal flood mitigation solutions, such as overpass bridges. The study quantifies the total road length in the area at 3572.279 km, with stream orders distributed as follows: First Order at 2276.79 km (50.7%), Second Order at 521.48 km (11.6%), Third Order at 331.26 km (7.4%), and Fourth Order at 1359.92 km (30.3%). Approximately 27% (12 out of 45) of the identified road flooding points were situated within third- and fourth-order streams, mainly along the Atbara-Shendi Road and near Al-Abidiya and Merowe. Blockages varied in distance, with the longest at 256 m in Al-Abidiya, and included additional measurements of 88, 49, 112, 106, 66, 500, and 142 m. Some locations experienced partial flood damage despite having water culverts at 7 of these points, indicating possible design flaws or insufficient hydrological analysis during construction. The findings suggest that enhanced scrutiny, potentially using high-resolution DEMs, is essential for better vulnerability assessment and management. The study proposes tailored solutions to protect infrastructure, promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.
In this paper, all the forests, woodlands and trees in the administrative area of Zhaoling Township in Chuzhou City of Huai'an City were collected and analyzed. The total area of the administrative area is 4852 hectares, the forest coverage rate is 22.07%, and the forest greening rate is 26.13%. This index has exceeded 20% of the forest coverage rate of the well - off society. Tree species is particularly serious. In the forest system (pure forest), the area of pure forest of poplar is accounted for 99.9% of the whole forest area. In the four tree systems, the number of poplar trees accounted for 80% of the total number of trees in the whole tree, and the total amount of poplar trees accounted for 98%. The poplar pure forest age group structure disorders, the unit area is low. The ratio of total area of poplar pure forest in Zhongling and young forests was 92.9%, and the ratio of total area of poplar pure forest and mature forest was 7.1%. The ratio of mature forest and the ratio of mature forest was 0.7%, and the proportion of each group was obviously abnormal.
This study investigates the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance practical content development within the media specialization program at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie. The primary objective is to examine the extent to which media specialty lecturers employ AI technology in developing practical content. A mixed-methods approach is employed, qualitative data are gathered through in-depth interviews with faculty members to elucidate their perceptions and experiences regarding the integration of AI technology in practical content development. The study aims to provide valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of AI integration in practical content development for media specialization programs The study reveals diverse views on AI integration in media education at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie. Faculty recognize AI’s benefits like personalized learning and productivity but also express concerns about over-reliance and ethics. Consensus exists on cautious AI implementation to maximize benefits and address drawbacks. Obstacles to AI adoption include cost, skills gaps, and ethical considerations, highlighting the complexity of integration. The study emphasizes a balanced approach, offering insights for enhancing practical content development in media specialization programs at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie.
