Technological advancements are transforming agriculture, yet adoption rates among agricultural extension officers, especially in regions like West Java, remain modest due to several challenges. This study applies the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate factors influencing the adoption of agricultural technologies by agricultural extension officers in West Java. Specifically, we explore the role of socialization, training, access to technology, cost, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness in shaping behavioral intention and actual adoption. Data were collected from 295 agricultural extension officers via structured surveys and analyzed using SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that socialization and training collectively enhance both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, while Technology Investment Worth specifically enhances perceived usefulness by emphasizing the value of the investment. Access to technology also plays a critical role in increasing ease of use perceptions. Both perceived ease of use and usefulness positively influence behavioral intention, which in turn is a strong predictor of actual adoption. The results provide valuable insights for policymakers aiming to increase technology uptake among agricultural extension officers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices through improved access, support, and cost reduction initiatives.
The rapid advancement of biotechnologies involves human subjects that brings forth intricate ethical, legal, social, and religious challenges. Recent breakthroughs in cloning and stem cell research have generated new hopes as well as presents considerable promise for treating severe diseases and regenerative medicine. In this regard, for advancements in biotechnology to be clinically applicable in medicine, it’s essential to comprehend both scientific principles and ethical implications, taken into consideration the scientific roadblocks impeding advancement in therapeutic cloning such as tumorigenicity, epigenetic reprogramming and interspecies pathogen transfer. As research in this area progresses, it will clarify that stem cells can be obtained from various sources, including therapeutic cloning, which involves cloning embryos from the nuclei of somatic cells or cloning individual organs in the laboratory. This article studies the legitimacy extent of therapeutic cloning in Islamic Fiqh and comparative law, using the comparative analytical approach. Thus, we have reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the Islamic Fiqh perspective on the illegality of extracting stem cells by creating therapeutic embryos using Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT). It is deemed unacceptable to create an embryo for the purpose of its development and then destroying it for the purpose of stem cells, as this is unacceptable that turns the human being into a source for spare parts. Conversely, cloning specific organs and tissues in the laboratory for medical purposes is considered permissible, provided that it does not harm anyone or violate their sanctity that is consistent with many comparative laws.
Cross-border ecological cooperation is always a challenging issue. Ecological cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has its own uniqueness as it is cross-border cooperation under “One Country, Two Systems”, which is different from multinational cooperation or regional collaboration within one country. This paper analyses the cooperation documents of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, official reports and academic literature, and then summarises the unique pattern of ecological cooperation in the Greater Bay Area under “One Country, Two Systems”. It outlines four characteristics: different priorities in ecological management of each side, case by base cooperation, government-dominated cooperation with low public participation, and huge institutional gap between three sides. This article also identifies several problems and causes: lack of common ecological targets for each side and effective cross-border regulative measures, cumbersome coordination in cross-border cooperation. Finally, four feasible recommendations have been put forwarded: creating new institutional arrangements under the context of “One Country, Two Systems”, establishing the efficient decision-making platform for the inter-city cooperation, introducing the market-based resource allocation, and encouraging public participation in ecological monitoring.
The integration of digitalization and servitization has become a significant trend in transforming the manufacturing industry due to digital intelligence technology. This paper examines the impact of the integration of digitalization and servitization on the performance of manufacturing companies and how small-scale enterprises can promote digital transformation leading to servitization. The study involved surveying 331 manufacturing companies in China using a seven-point Likert scale questionnaire. Measurement scales were validated using confirmatory factor analysis and discriminant validity tests. Mediation analysis assessed digitalization’s impact on servitization and firm performance. The study’s findings emphasize the significant impact of digitalization and servitization on enterprises’ performance. Digitalization plays a crucial role in mediating this relationship. The study highlights three critical dimensions of digital variables, including digital technology, digital labor, and digital relationship resources, essential in enabling effective servitization. Manufacturing enterprises generally prefer aligning their technology investments and organizational changes within the digitalization framework to implement servitization successfully. The study suggests two integration strategies, namely conservative and aggressive. The finding emphasizes that the convergence of digitalization and servitization leads to a new manufacturing production mode called digital servitization.
