Baribis Fault disasters caused the loss of human lives. This study investigates the strategies local communities employ in Indonesia to cope with disasters. A qualitative study was conducted on various cultural strategies used to mitigate disasters in relevant areas. These strategies were selected based on the criteria of locally based traditional oral and written knowledge obtained through intensive interviews. The study reveals that technological and earth science solutions are insufficient to resolve disasters resulting from Baribis Fault activity. Still, local culture and knowledge also play a crucial role in disaster mitigation. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how cultural strategies avoid disasters and highlights the need to transform local knowledge regarding effective cultural strategies for mitigating such disasters. This transformation can have positive psychological implications and enhance community harmony.
Maintaining balance is essential for daily activities; deficits in hearing-impaired adolescents can severely impact their academics and daily life. Suspension training is employed to enhance the coordination of multiple muscle groups within the body and ultimately to improve balance. A total of 105 students with non-genetic hearing impairments, comprising 65 boys and 40 girls, participated in the study. Balance training using the TRS suspension belt included exercises such as prone elbow brace, supine back brace, kneeling elbow brace, lateral elbow brace, prone hip flexion, and supine hip lift. Strength training using equipment involved exercises like single-leg suspension squat, flying bird brace, supine suspension arm flexion, seated static brace, and standing butterfly pinch chest. The main outcome measures included static balance tests (lambda footwork, Wolfson postural stress test), dynamic balance tests (functional forward reach test, balance beam walk test), and vestibule function tests (rotation-walk test). The results of the lambda footwork and Wolfson postural stress tests revealed highly significant differences between 8 weeks and 16 weeks of intervention (p < 0.01). The Functional Forward Stretch test demonstrated a significant difference between 8 weeks of intervention and 2 weeks of intervention at 16 weeks (p < 0.05). The balance beam walking test indicated a significant improvement at 8 weeks (p < 0.05) and a highly significant improvement at 16 weeks (p < 0.01). In the spin-walk test, no statistically significant differences were observed between the pre-experimental test, the 8-week intervention, and the 16-week intervention (p > 0.05). Leveraging the expropriation system to mediate skeletal muscle movement and muscle contraction coordination can improve balance. Suspension training significantly improved balance during activities requiring static non-interference maintenance. However, suspension training did not demonstrate a significant effect on improving vestibule function. Overall, suspension training was effective in enhancing balance in all patients with non-hereditary deafness.
With the continuous deepening of education and teaching reform and the rapid development of information technology, more and more educators have paid attention to the effectiveness of computer teaching in universities, and university teachers have included it in the key topics of educational and teaching activity design. The cooperative teaching model stands out among numerous teaching models with its unique advantages, and has been applied by many teachers in the classroom teaching process, playing an important role in promoting the improvement of teaching efficiency. Teachers of computer science in universities should continue to explore effective teaching methods, accelerate the process of organic integration of cooperative teaching models and classroom teaching content, in order to deepen the understanding and cognition of computer knowledge among more students and promote their comprehensive development. This article will study the application strategies of cooperative teaching mode in computer teaching in universities.
To evaluate the efficiency of decision-making units, researchers continually develop models simulating the production process of organizations. This study formulates a network model integrating undesirable outputs to measure the efficiency of Vietnam’s banking industry. Employing methodologies from the data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach, the efficiency scores for these banks are subsequently computed and comparatively analyzed. The empirical results indicate that the incorporation of undesirable output variables in the efficiency evaluation model leads to significantly lower efficiency scores compared to the conventional DEA model. In practical terms, the study unveils a deterioration in the efficiency of banking operations in Vietnam during the post-Covid era, primarily attributed to deficiencies in credit risk management. These findings contribute to heightening awareness among bank managers regarding the pivotal importance of credit management activities.
This research paper aims to examine the association between financial development and environmental quality in 31 European Union (EU) countries from 2001 to 2020. This study proposed an estimation model for the study by combining regression models. The regression model has a dependent variable, carbon emissions, and five independent variables, including Urbanization (URB), Total population (POP), Gross domestic product (GDP), Credit to the private sector (FDB), and Foreign direct investment (FDI). This research used regression methods such as the Fixed Effects Model, Random Effects Model, and Feasible generalized least squaresThe findings reveal that URB, POP, and GDP positively impact carbon emissions in EU countries, whereas the FDB variable exhibits a contrary effect. The remaining variable, FDI, is not statistically significant. In response to these findings, we advocate for adopting transformative green solutions that aim to enhance the quality of health, society, and the environment, offering comprehensive strategies to address Europe’s environmental challenges and pave the way for a sustainable future.
