On October 7, 2026, the team led by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis at Stanford University released the latest edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists list.
Based on research output and citation data from the Scopus database, the ranking evaluates researchers using multiple indicators, including citations, H-index, and HM-index. It aims to identify scientists with outstanding research impact worldwide and covers a broad range of scientific disciplines and specialized research fields.
The ranking consists of two main categories:
📌 Career-Long Impact
Recognizing researchers for their long-term scientific contributions and impact throughout their careers.
📌 Single-Year Impact
Highlighting researchers based on their scientific impact and research performance during the most recent year.
In the 2026 Single-Year Impact ranking, 22 Editorial Board Members of Characterization and Application of Nanomaterials (CAN) were recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists.
This outstanding achievement reflects the strong research excellence and international academic influence of CAN’s Editorial Board across nanomaterials and related interdisciplinary fields.
We warmly congratulate all 22 Editorial Board Members on this remarkable recognition and sincerely thank them for their continued support and contribution to CAN.
