    Muneer Ismael is a professor at the University of Basrah, college of engineering where he got his B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD. In 1996, 1998, and 2007, respectively. He published about 60 papers in this field and got five prizes of distinct researcher, two of them from Al-Eyen university award and three from University of Basrah.     I was born in Ferrara on April 21st, 1971. I received the "Laurea" degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering in June, 1996 from the Department of Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Italy). In February, 2000 I was awarded the Ph.D. in ``Information Science: Automatic Control'' at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara and Modena (Italy). Since 1999 I have been a IEEE Valued Member and Research Associate at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria of the Università di Ferrara. Since July 2000 I am a member of the Technical Committee SAFEPROCESS. Since February 2002 I am Assistan Professor at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara. I received the nomination of IEEE Senior Member in December 2006. My research interests include fault diagnosis of dynamic processes, system modelling and identification, and the interaction issues between identification and fault diagnosis. I am a reviewer of many international journals and author of more than 180 international journal and conference papers, as well as three books on these topics.     Prof. Zhou obtained his PhD degree in 2021 from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPolyU), Master’s degree from Hunan University in 2017 and Bachelor from PLA university of Science and Technology in 2014. Zhou conducted his PhD attachment program in 2019 in Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, under the supervision of Prof. Jan L.M. Hensen. He joined in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2021. He was awarded the Best Paper Award in CUE2020: Applied Energy Symposium:¬Low carbon cities and urban energy systems, organized by Applied Energy journal. He has 3 highly cited papers (ESI 1%). He won the award ‘Outstanding PhD candidate in international conference on Energy and Built Environment’ in 2021. Dr. Zhou is invited as guest editor to launch a special issue ‘Energy Flexible Buildings with Energy Conversion and Management Technologies’ in the SCI journal, Applied Sciences, in 2021. Dr. Zhou was also invited to contribute chapters in 7 books (publishers: Elsevier, Springer and so on).
