Nationwide integration of AI into the contemporary art sector has taken place since government AI regulations in 2023 to promote AI use. China’s AI integration into industry is ‘ahead’ of other countries, meaning that other countries can learn from these creative professionals. Consequently, contemporary visual artists have devised arts-led sustainable AI solutions to overcome global AI concerns. They are now putting these solutions into practice to maintain their jobs, arts forms, and industry. This paper draws on 30 interviews with contemporary visual artists, and a survey with 118 professional artists from across China between 2023 and 2024. Findings show that 87% use AI and 76% say AI is useful and they will continue to use AI into the future. Findings show professionals have had time to find DIY, bottom-up solutions to AI concerns, including (1) building strong authorship practices, identity, and brand, (2) showing human creativity and inner thinking, (3) gaining a balanced independent position with AI. They want AI regulations to liberalise and promote AI use so they can freely experiment and develop AI. These findings show how humans are directing the use of AI, altering current narratives on AI-led impacts on industry, jobs, and human creativity.
The artificial intelligence (AI)-based architect's profile's selection (simply iSelection) uses a polymathic mathematical model and AI-subdomains' integration for enabling automated and optimized human resources (HR) processes and activities. HR-related processes and activities in the selection, support, problem-solving, and just-in-time evaluation of a transformation manager's or key team members' polymathic profile (TPProfile). Where a TPProfile can be a classical business manager, transformation manager, project manager, or an enterprise architect. iSelection-related selection processes use many types of artifacts, like critical success factors (CSF), AI-subdomain' integration environments, and an enterprise-wide decision-making system (DMS). iSelection focuses on TPProfiles for various kinds of transformation projects, like the case of the transformation of enterprises' HRs (EHR) processes, activities, and related fields, like enterprise resources planning (ERP) environments, financial systems, human factors (HF) evolution, and AI-subdomains. The iSelection tries to offer a well-defined (or specific) TPProfile, which includes HF's original-authentic capabilities, education, affinities, and possible polymathical characteristics. Such a profile can also be influenced by educational or training curriculum (ETC), which also takes into account transformation projects’ acquired experiences. Knowing that selected TPProfiles are supported by an internal (or external) transformation framework (TF), which can support standard transformation activities, and solving various types of iSelection’s problems. Enterprise transformation projects (simply projects) face extremely high failure rates (XHFR) of about 95%, which makes EHR selection processes very complex.
Fungi can be used to remove or degrade polluting compounds through a mycoremediation process. Sometimes even more efficiently than prokaryotes, they can therefore be used to combat pollution from non-biodegradable polymers. Cellulose acetate is a commonly used material in the manufacture of cigarette butts, so when discarded, it generates pollution. The fungus Pleurotus ostreatus has the ability to degrade cellulose acetate through the enzymes it secretes. The enzyme hydrolyzes the acetyl group of cellulose acetate, while cellulolytic enzymes degrade the cellulose backbone into sugars, polysaccharides, or cellobiose. In addition to cellulose acetate, this fungus is capable of degrading other conventionally non-biodegradable polymers, so it has the potential to be used to reduce pollution. Large-scale cultivation of the fungus has proven to be more economically viable than conventional methods for treating non-biodegradable polymers, which is an additional advantage.
Artificial intelligence chatbots can be used to conduct research effectively and efficiently in the fifth industrial revolution. Artificial intelligence chatbots are software applications that utilize artificial intelligence technologies to assist researchers in various aspects of the research process. These chatbots are specifically designed to understand researchers’ inquiries, provide relevant information, and perform tasks related to data collection, analysis, literature review, collaboration, and more. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of artificial intelligence chatbots for conducting research in the fifth industrial revolution. This qualitative study adopts content analysis as its research methodology, which is grounded in literature review incorporating insights from the researchers’ experiences with utilizing artificial intelligence. The findings reveal that researchers can use artificial intelligence chatbots to produce quality research. Researchers are exposed to various types of artificial intelligence chatbots that can be used to conduct research. Examples are information chatbots, question and answer chatbots, survey chatbots, conversational agents, peer review chatbots, personalised learning chatbots and language translation chatbots. Artificial intelligence chatbots can be used to perform functions such as literature review, data collection, writing assistance and peer review assistance. However, artificial intelligence chatbots can be biased, lack data privacy and security, limited in creativity and critical thinking. Researchers must be transparent and take in consideration issues of informed content and data privacy and security when using artificial intelligence chatbots. The study recommends a framework on artificial intelligence chatbots researchers can use to conduct research in the fifth industrial revolution.
The role of trace gases in the storage of heat in the atmosphere of the Earth and in the exchange of energy between the atmosphere and outer space is discussed. The molar heat capacities of the trace gases water vapor, carbon dioxide and methane are only slightly higher than those of nitrogen and oxygen. The contribution of trace gases carbon dioxide and methane to heat storage is negligible. Water vapor, with its higher concentration and conversion energies, contributes significantly to the heat storage in the atmosphere. Most of the heat in the Earth’s atmosphere is stored in nitrogen and oxygen, the main components of the atmosphere. The trace gases act as converters of infrared radiation into heat and vice versa. They are receivers and transmitters in the exchange of energy with outer space. The radiation towards space is favored compared to the reflection towards the surface of the Earth with increasing altitude by decreasing the density of the atmosphere and condensation of water vapor. Predictions of the development of the climate over a century by extrapolation are critically assessed.
Land use as for human-circumstance interaction is as we all know changed the global land surface sharply and continuously. Farmland abandonment is the phenomenon of going extreme of marginal of land use, which exert positive and negative impacts on our living circumstances. In order to map the extent of farmland abandonment of Zhejiang Province, we try to use the geo-big data analysis platform to perform the massive data preprocessing and map the extent of farmland abandonment of the study area based on multi-source land use and land cover data. Then we execute landscape pattern analysis using landscape pattern analysis software and spatial auto-correlation (Moran's I) analysis based on ArcGIS and Fragstats software. We found that the area of farmland is about 16.32% on account of all land use types, which is 1.89104 km2. While the whole area of FA is 1.72 × 108 m2, and the farmland abandonment ratio is 1.65%. AF's area is about 1.95 × 109 m2, and the continuous cultivation ratio is 18.69%. The landscape fragmentation, landscape aggregation and landscape diversity of FA, AF and FL are different. At the same time, the spatial auto-correlation of FA and AF are dominant high congregation and low discrete. At last, we compared our calculated results with the existed research results which demonstrate our research does scientific convincible. We also make futural prospects prediction and show the research deficiency as well as bring out some policy implications based on our research, which means build proper land use management regulation and decrease the farmland abandonment on account of the premise of suitable land use policies.
