  • Prof. Lukasz Warguła https://sin.put.poznan.pl/people/details/lukasz.wargula Poznań University of Technology, Poland I am a researcher at the Institute of Machine Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Poznan University of Technology, where I conduct scientific research and implementation activities, focusing on mechanical engineering. My research interests primarily include machines and equipment for wood processing as well as technologies related to environmental protection. In recent years, I have concentrated on modern technologies used in low-power machines, such as wood chippers. I study their impact on energy consumption, exhaust emissions, and operation, especially when using alternative fuels such as LPG or CNG. My work also includes the development of innovative drive and control systems aimed at reducing operating costs and minimizing environmental impact. The results of this research are reflected in numerous publications on wood processing technologies and the operation of machines in various working conditions.I am also involved in analyzing the energy consumption of machines and examining how their design affects efficiency, which is important not only for the wood industry but also for environmental protection. Additionally, I actively participate in implementation projects that aim to apply my research findings in industrial practice, providing tangible support to the industry.

He examined the effect of traditional agroforestry systems on crops and their management to enhance crop productivity. He brought light on farmer’s perception and technology adoption about forestry plantations. He has been able to infer the genetic relationship among cultivated/wild species of Luffa aegyptiaca. This was first ever report on mating system in Luffa using molecular markers and demonstrated the utility of using more than one DNA marker in assessment of molecular diversity in a widely cultivated crop having narrow genetic base. He conducted experiments to select leguminous plants that can be used for the recovery of degraded lands and to identify drought and salt tolerant varieties that can be used in dry/saline soils. He has started his job from Indira Gandhi Agricultural University as a Scientist (Agroforestry) in 1994 and became Senior Scientist (Agroforestry) in the year 2003 and Principal Scientist/Professor (Forestry) in the year 2009. In the year 2011, he joined Kumaun University, Nainital as a Professor of Botany. He has been Awarded the 'Fellow of National Institute of Ecology (FNIE)' in the year 2010.
