This paper aims to provide a comprehensive view of the E-Government Development Index analysis in Southeast Asia. Through a review of the results of an annual survey of 192 United Nations (UN) member states, the study identified 11 countries with the E-Government Development Index in Southeast Asia. The findings in this study revealed that the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) in Southeast Asian countries displays different levels of development. Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei are the countries in the region with the highest EGDI scores. Singapore leads the area with a high EGDI score. These countries have effectively implemented advanced e-government services, such as online public services, digital infrastructure, and e-participation, which have greatly improved the quality of life of their citizens and the efficiency of their government function. On the other hand, countries such as Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar lag in their e-government development as a result of factors such as limited Internet access, inadequate digital infrastructure, and low levels of digital literacy among the populations of these countries. In addition, some moderate progress has been made in the development of e-government in mid-level countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. These countries continue to improve their digital infrastructure and enhance their e-service offerings to close the digital divide. Overall, EGDI in Southeast Asia reflects different levels of digital transformation in the region, with each country facing its distinct set of difficulties and opportunities when it comes to leveraging technology for better governance and public service delivery.
Named Entity Recognition (NER), a core task in Information Extraction (IE) alongside Relation Extraction (RE), identifies and extracts entities like place and person names in various domains. NER has improved business processes in both public and private sectors but remains underutilized in government institutions, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. This study examines which government fields have utilized NER over the past five years, evaluates system performance, identifies common methods, highlights countries with significant adoption, and outlines current challenges. Over 64 international studies from 15 countries were selected using PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The findings are synthesized into a preliminary ontology design for Government NER.
The Malaysian dilemma presents a complex challenge in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring a comprehensive statistical analysis for the formulation of a sustainable economic framework. This study delves into the multifaceted aspects of reconstructing Malaysia’s economy post-COVID-19, employing a data-driven approach to navigate the intricacies of the nation’s economic landscape. The research focuses on key statistical indicators, including GDP growth, unemployment rates, and inflation, to assess the immediate and long-term impacts of the pandemic. Additionally, it examines the effectiveness of government interventions and stimulus packages in mitigating economic downturns and fostering recovery. A comparative analysis with pre-pandemic data provides valuable insights into the extent of economic resilience and identifies sectors that require targeted support for sustained growth. Furthermore, the study explores the role of technology and digital transformation in building a resilient economy, considering the accelerated shift towards remote work and digital transactions during the pandemic. The analysis incorporates data on technological adoption rates, digital infrastructure development, and innovation ecosystems to gauge their contributions to economic sustainability. Addressing the Malaysian Dilemma also involves an examination of social and environmental dimensions. The study investigates the impact of economic policies on income distribution, social equity, and environmental sustainability, aiming to achieve sustainable economic growth. The study contributes a nuanced analysis to guide policymakers and stakeholders in constructing a sustainable post-COVID-19 economy in Malaysia.
Continuous usage is crucial for ensuring the longevity of technological advancements. The success of e-government is contingent upon its ongoing use, rather than its initial acceptance. Nevertheless, there has been a dearth of scholarly research on the ongoing use of e-government services. The objective of this study was to identify the primary factors that influences the continued use of e-government services in Indonesia. The research model was created by integrating both Expectation Confirmation Model and Technology Acceptance Model, two theories that are frequently employed in the adoption of technology. The data was obtained by administering an online survey to 217 Indonesian citizens who had previously utilized the Online Citizen Aspiration and Complaints Service (LAPOR) e-Government services. The results indicate that perceived ease of use had a substantial impact on citizen satisfaction and perceived usefulness. In contrast to previous research conducted in the context of e-Government, it was found that perceived usefulness did not have a significant correlation with the intention to continue using the system. The most significant predictor of continued intention to use was citizen satisfaction. Surprisingly, satisfaction was more significantly influenced by perceived ease of use than perceived usefulness. The implications of these findings are elaborated upon.
The women’s sector in the academe is one of the most affected profiles during the COVID-19 pandemic which directly ravages their livelihood and other economic activities. Thus, this research project investigated the economic situations of 30 private and public-school teachers who were displaced from their occupations or were forcibly deprived of income-generating activities. In-depth interviews as research instruments were employed in the study to extract responses on how the educators creatively apply adaptive economic strategies and how government should aid them during a global crisis. The research findings showed that the pandemic has affected the economic activities of the respondents including the loss of their livelihood and other economic sidelines. They responded to these economic effects through adaptive strategies using diversifying and analyzing trends, using digital technology resources, data-driven, acquiring new alternative skills, pricing strategy, and becoming an expert. Results dictated that government could support affected women by initiating training options, homepreneurship support, encouraging independent income-earners, financial management and tax breaks, and industry compatibility endorsement. This study is important to map out the specific economic effects of the pandemic and aid them with initiatives by providing them with concrete economic tools and programs.
The purpose of this study is to investigate customer satisfaction with quality of service known as SERVQUAL improvement or service quality competitiveness in emerging markets. Using Indonesian government medical care as an example the author examines the satisfaction of patients. Information and data were collected through a survey of 399 BPJS users in Indonesia. All data were analyzed using Smart PLS. This study demonstrates that there is a negative value associated with the five-dimensional gap. As a result, the care provided to BPJS patients is below par. Specifically, the sensitivity dimension has the largest disparity at 0.15, while the physical evidence dimension has the smallest at 0.49. In order to raise the level of service provided, it may be necessary to take direct measures or examine tangible evidence. This study develops the relationship between different quality service models. There appears to be a substantial increase in the body of literature in the area of service quality, allowing for constant updates and the incorporation of the lessons learned from the experiences of the departed. These revised guidelines are intended to aid SERVQUAL study participants. The study gives practical support to academics and practitioners in directing service quality improvement through the use of data collected from large-scale surveys of patients and medical professionals as doctors in Indonesia.
