From an overall perspective, ideological and political education for college students aims to improve their ideological and po_x005flitical level and moral cultivation, to realize the fundamental task of establishing moral education, and to cultivate new men of the times for the construction of the new era. The excellent traditional Chinese culture can empower the ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and its integration into ideological and political education is conducive to cultivating college students’ correct outlook on the world, society and morality, promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture and boosting the reform of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. However, at present, there are problems such as insufficient knowledge of college teachers, single teaching method and superficial integration, therefore, we should be based on the reality, promote the reform of integration path and method, build a quality campus culture, strengthen the role of teachers’ moral exemplary leadership, and integrate the excellent traditional Chinese culture into the classroom teaching, and implement the curriculum of ideological and political education.

Currently, the development of traditional Hanfu culture in some Chinese universities still presents a disorganized, low-identity, and unimportant state, which hinders the development process of excellent traditional culture. It is still of great significance to dig deep into the ideological and political elements of traditional Hanfu culture, improve the degree of attention paid to traditional Hanfu culture in universities, improve classroom forms, and give full play to the organizational and leading role of schools in clubs.

In addition, the trend and prospect of the integration of red music and university ideological and political education are discussed, and some suggestions are given to promote the deep integration of music and ideological and political education.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory proposed by American psychologist Abraham Maslow in the 1950s. The theory believes that human needs can be divided into physiological need, safety need, belongingness and love need, esteem need and self-actualization need. The five needs gradually increase in line with the hierarchy, and only after the lower level needs are satisfied will the higher level needs be pursued. As for the ideological and political education of college students, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs holds significant implications for guiding colleges and universities to carry out the ideological and political education of poor college students.
